I Tried Food From Facebook Marketplace in Atlanta

Yep, this is me walking into a backyard of a complete stranger house [music] just to get a burger. And this is me also cracking into a hot Cheeto ball I also got from a stranger. [music] And guess what? This all came from Facebook Marketplace where you sell games, cars, toys, and ski masks. Today I'm risking my stomach and possibly [music] my safety by spending the entire day ordering food from complete strangers online. I'm talking about I'm pulling up at your door, I'm in your backyard, I'm in your kitchen, I'm at the gas station, I'm at the liquor store. It's so many mystery locations but [music] we're here to answer one question though. Is ordering food from Facebook Marketplace worth [music] the risk? Well, we finna find out. Now, while we on the search to figure out what food we going to get, it's so many questionable dishes on here. >> [screaming] >> But while I'm scrolling, I'm thinking in the back of my head, let's start off with something like let's get something that I'm familiar with. Moments later, I came across this beautiful looking barbecue plate. And based off the video, it looked valid to me. So, I instantly hit him up. He hit me back immediately and told me yes. Then he sent the flyer over to me. Today is the day, y'all. We already contacted our first person as y'all saw and we finna go pull up on them. I pray that any food we eat in this video, I don't get food poison from it. That's the only thing. All right, y'all. So, for our first one, this ain't too sketched out. I always came across somebody selling barbecue plates at a gas station or something growing up. That 15 minutes turned into 25 minutes real fast due to that traffic. So, I hope this food is a good because I purposely didn't eat all day just for this. We is approaching our destination within the next 15 seconds. While we in the trap, East Atlanta to be exact. Pull my window down and see if I smell anything. I don't smell no barbecue. I don't smell no grill, no nothing. Moments later, we pulled into the Shell, found us a parking spot, and there they were posted up in the corner with their grill. >> What's up? What's up? What's up? What's happening? What's going on? So, for their menu, it's real straightforward for the most part. They got turkey legs, oxtail, beef ribs, smoked chicken ribs with a option of three sides. >> never had a beef rib before. I think today's the day we try a beef rib. Let me try y'all beef rib plate. Beef rib plate? Yeah. All right. What's up? Once I finished placing, they got straight into my order. So, we going to be trying beef ribs for the first time. I got it with mac and cheese and green beans. They was cool people. They even opened up the grill for a few minutes later. My order was ready. And I ain't going to lie, it looked crazy. Then he asked me, "Can I get a video of me trying the food for their personal media pages?" My boy pulled up got the beef rib mild. Yeah. Let's try the whole rib. Hey man, you know we going to we going to try everything, but you know we get you get into that rib though. I want you to pick that up and bite it though. All right, bet. >> what I'm saying? Here you go. Yeah. My first time having a beef rib, too. Oh, first time? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You got to stay true to it, man. What that flavor talking about? Oh, yeah. Got some good seasoning on it. And that sauce hit it off. Yeah, you see that cheese pull? Crazy. Yeah. And it's hot. Oh, yeah. I'm enjoying it. Appreciate y'all. Hey, hey. Yes, sir. Yeah. Okay, cool. Talk to me nice. Like y'all, they kind of did put me on the spot. You like, "Can you try it for me, bro, for my video?" I'm like, "Yeah, sure. Come on." See, I was going to try to stretch it and see if this could make it back to the crib, but we finna go ahead and get into this now. Y'all see this beef rib? Cool sauce. We got two beef ribs, green beans, and mac and cheese with a Hawaiian roll. And I'm already knowing if I was to take this to the crib, it was going to be all cold and stuff. It wasn't going to hit the same. Look at this cheese pull. Oh, it's killer. Oh, y'all like that? The mac and cheese was valid. It's very rare that you have catch somebody having good sides and good barbecue. It's either or. I don't know what type of cheese blend that is, but it gets a okay for me. But honestly, I just want to dig in inside of this beef rib, bro. I got to pull my dreads back. What's up? The plate? I paid 40. 40? Yeah, but they got plates for like 25, 35. I got the beef rib. I know, I know. Yeah, look good. Good, yeah, good. It ain't falling off the bone tender, but it's tender enough. My first time having beef rib, that was amazing. I really didn't know what to expect from it, but I will most definitely get it again. Good quality beef, right amount of seasoning, and they didn't overcook it. Everything on this plate is good. Green beans go stupid. Mac and cheese, y'all already know how I feel about the mac and cheese. This is a great way to start off this video. I didn't really know what I was walking myself into because I ain't know if it was going to be at somebody house, somebody apartment complex, somebody warehouse, somebody restaurant. It turned out they posted up at a gas station. Everybody was cool, service was straightforward. I enjoyed that. On to the next bite. Let's do it. Yeah, I'm sorry, [laughter] y'all. That second beef rib did not make it back to the house. I honestly tried to hold back like I said in the beginning. I ain't eat nothing all day, so I don't even know why I was trying to play with it. Up next, we will be trying some hot Cheeto balls. Now, this finna be interesting. While scrolling on Marketplace deciding on what I was going to choose next, I came across these hot Cheeto balls. They was kind of talking to me. Not in a good way. I don't know how my stomach is going to react to this, but it's worth the try. So, the person we'll be getting them from is 20 minutes away. I already been chopping it up. We've been communicating, and today is the day. But for this one, y'all, it's different. We got to pull up to her crib. We got to pull up to her humble abode. Believe it not, y'all, I've been working on this video for the last few weeks. I ain't going to lie. So, I hope no strange activity goes on, and it's just a smooth transaction. Let's go ahead and get into our destination, man. Let's do it. So, we made our way up the road to get these hot Cheeto balls. All All child, we is pulling up to our destination, man. She told me when I arrived, drive up to the third floor and come to this unit number. Now, in the back of my head, I was just thinking, "Okay, LJ. This is your first time ever doing something like this. I pray that you didn't just get scammed and nothing goes left." All right, child. I told her I was here and she said it would be outside on the mat. Huh? That's a little weird, y'all. I guess she don't want to see nobody. I I can't even see her face. Dang, bro. What if somebody just mistakenly walked past and picked up my food? So, I was walking extra fast to find her unit number so that wouldn't happen. Here we go, right here. Hey, man. Got my food. >> [snorts] >> Smell good, too. I ain't going to lie. I just hope and pray I don't get food poison. That's the only thing I don't want to happen. Top to me nicely. Smells fresh out. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Hey. I ain't going to lie. Presentation valid. I ain't know what I was walking into, y'all. We got two hot Cheeto balls, boudin boudin balls. Look at the size of this. Woo! And she got me a cup of cheese and some onions. So far, y'all, the only thing I could really side eye is the fact that she put my food outside. Other than that, customer service was cool. Now, it's time to see what this hot Cheeto ball tastes like. All right, child. For the time we all been waiting for, I'm finna crack this thing open. OH, SHH. BOY, Y'ALL SEE THAT CHEESE PULL? OH, it's still going. It's still going. It's still going. Oh! All right, this crazy, bro. Nah, that was crazy. So, on the inside, y'all, we got, of course, cheese, rice, chicken. I think there's some more stuff inside of here. I don't know. But, let's take a bite. Oh, yeah. Hey, this is good. I was not expecting this to taste like this. This exceeded all my expectations. I did not know it was going to come like this. Even though her profile, she had little to none reviews and comments on her page. It's different for sure. Y'all see this? Look at all this cheese. It's crazy. I just got punched with so many flavors just now, bro. Look at the inside of this. It's so much going on in this one little ball, but the main two things off rip is crunchy and it's packed with flavor. Like buku flavor in it. Ooh, let me try with the cheese sauce. I don't know. Not bad at all. I ain't going to lie. This is truly good, y'all. But the only thing I can say, this doesn't taste like hot Cheetos. It just tastes like something fried. Like I don't taste no hot Cheetos at all. But I don't even care. It's still good. I don't know, y'all. I might got to hit Shawty back up. It good, bro. I'm giving that a cool eight out of 10 for sure. It would have been a 10 out of 10 if you could really taste the hot Cheeto flavor in it. Outside of that, that whole ball was good. Pause, [ __ ] And did y'all see that cheese pull in the beginning? Bro, that was like a 15-second cheese pull. So far, everything is going great, bro. The two meals we had from these people, bro, top tier. [ __ ] so good. I got rice in my phone case. Bro, that was great. But we not done, though. We got one more person Well, we actually got two more people lined up, bro. I don't think y'all understand. I've been going back and forth with these folks for the last couple days. Craziest thing is, I don't even think they speak English for real. But what caught my attention was this burger that they had up. I don't even know what's all on it, but I was like, oh yeah, I got to hit these folks up. Now, moving into our next stranger that we will be getting food from, we going to be trying this burger. But I don't know what's all on the burger, but it looks different and it looks good. But with that said, this will be the most sketchiest stop that we'll have. For one, I'm not familiar with this location. I'm not going to put their address out there, but I'm not familiar with this location. Number two, they don't speak English. I don't know how we going to do this. I may have to have a translator out while I'm ordering, but we finna figure it out. Number three, I to go into these folks' crib in their backyard on the right side specifically just to order. And for number four, I could just be overthinking and this could go perfectly fine. Who knows? But we finna figure out. >> y'all. I think we here. I'm not sure. The whole conversation in Spanish, by the way. [snorts] Let's hope for the best because I am walking into these folks' crib and I'm trying their food. I do [music] smell a grill going, so I guess that's a green flag. It's over there, but it's in Spanish. I just pulled up the picture of what I wanted because the whole menu was in Spanish and that wasn't going to help at all. Carne asada. At the bottom. The bottom? This one? Okay. So, once I showed her the picture of what I wanted, I placed my order. Wait, hold on. Hey, hold up. Hold up. Hold up. My order was ready before I even paid for the food, y'all. So, I grabbed my food and I decided to eat there, too. They already had tables laid out, so I'm like, I might as well. I wasn't the only person there. They had a crew with them. It was kind of giving off a backyard barbecue type of vibe. I'mma try my best not to make this weird, but I'm sitting in the back of a stranger's house right now. Finna try their food. I love my life, bro. Shout out to their daughter cuz she was the only one that spoke English there. I don't know what type of juice this is, but this is some good juice. Now it's time for the part that we all been waiting for. We got us a beautiful looking burger with sesame seed bun, lettuce, tomato, patty, cheese. Now, that red stuff, I don't know if it's pork or beef. I believe she told me it was pork. But overall, this whole burger look good. This looks crazy. I'm going in for the first bite. I can't make this up. I kid y'all not. This burger tastes as good as it looks. Everything is just blended in so well. Hey yo, what the [ __ ] Good quality beef, nice and juicy. The cheese melting, lettuce, tomato, pickle. Bro, this is a 10 out of 10 burger. I'll tell y'all this was worth all 14 of those dollars, the burger and this. I don't know what I'm drinking on. I just know it tastes good. I'm basically in the family now. I'm in their backyard, eating their food. And the food good. I'm in the family. Mhm. Do you want anything else? Mhm. Did you like it? Mhm. You know what? Maybe I was overthinking this whole situation after all. It started off kind of skeptical, but once I stepped foot backyard, all that went out the window. Them folks welcomed me into the back of their crib. Gave me a fantastic burger. So for our final pit stop, we was back on the road shooting across town to head to our final destination. Our whole conversation was straight forward. I asked them for their availability, and they replied back within 5 minutes. I just had to pull up. >> We have made it to our final destination, y'all. And this is kind of similar to the first person we pulled up on in this video. And the only difference is is that they have a food truck. And I'm looking dead at it. You want to see it. There you go right there. Smell good. Vamo, vamo, vamo. Vamo, vamo, vamo, vamo. All right, let me get two chicken tacos and two steak tacos. $15. All right, we got two steak tacos and two chicken tacos. They said they got the best tacos in the world. Do I believe that? Of course not. Tacos was the item that drew my attention when I was scrolling on Facebook Marketplace. So, hopefully they good. It's a cool vibe out there, y'all. They had the food truck going, they had the grill going, they even got some fruits, they got some snacks, they got drinks. And I ain't going to lie, whatever they got on this grill smells crazy, so I know it's going to taste good. Thank you so much. All right, thank you so much. All right, it was a decent crowd outside, so it took them around 15 minutes for them to get my order out. So, we went with two steak and two chicken tacos. Said they the best tacos in the world, huh? I got you. I got you. Amigo said they the best tacos in the world, y'all. This looks good. Nah, these valid. These tacos was different, y'all. The first thing I noticed is that they fried the corn tortilla. Normally, they just lay it out on the grill, but this time they fried it. But for the most part, the chicken was smooth, great seasoning, good texture, [music] good quality meat. Let's see how this steak one coming. Me, I'm a little odd when it come down to like eating Mexican food. I don't like no sauce. None of that green sauce, red sauce, I barely be going with sauce. Boy, what the I should have got all four steak. Nah, I know I said that chicken taco was smooth, but this steak taco was smoother. Oh my god, that taco was amazing. Can't y'all not they seasoned this to perfection. It's literally one of the best steak tacos I have ever had. The chicken one, not too much, but the steak one, for sure. What really knocked it out the park was the seasoning and the texture of the steak. I promise y'all, if I knew the steak tacos was coming like that, I would have got all four of them. One thing I can say, y'all, this Facebook Marketplace, this search for food, hasn't failed me yet. Literally, every last four locations, houses, gas station, liquor store, all these folks that's out here hustling, their food is good. I can't wait to do this again, bro. Oh my gosh. I don't know if these tacos going to make it to the house, but I don't know when, but we most definitely got to do this again, y'all. I enjoyed every last bit of it.
