You're a Christian. You love God, but there's a sin you keep going back to, and it's not stealing, it's not lying, it's lust. >> [music] >> And every time you fall, you feel like the worst person alive, like maybe God is done with you. He's not. But here's what nobody is telling you about lust, and it might be the reason you keep losing this battle. >> [music] >> Lust isn't just a physical problem. See, lust starts in the mind. Long before the action, there's a thought. Then the thought gets entertained, then it grows. And by the time you're trying to resist, [music] it already has a grip on you. Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 5:28, "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with [music] her in his heart." That's not meant to condemn you. That's meant to show you where the real battle is, >> [music] >> the heart, the mind, not just the body. And if you think you're alone in this, >> [music] >> you're not. King David was a worshiper, a warrior, a man God personally chose, and yet one evening, from a rooftop, he saw Bathsheba. He looked, he lingered, and what followed was one of the biggest falls [music] in the entire Bible, adultery, deception, even murder, all from one undisciplined [music] moment of lust. David wasn't weak in faith, he just didn't guard his eyes, and neither do most of us. So, what do you actually [music] do? Step one, flee, don't fight. This sounds too simple, [music] but Paul didn't say wrestle with sexual immorality, he said run from it. First Corinthians 6:18, "Flee from sexual immorality." [music] There's no trophy for standing close to the fire and seeing how long you last. [music] The wind is getting out of the room, delete the app, block the page, change the route. Whatever your trigger is, >> [music] >> your job is to flee, not to negotiate. Think about Joseph. Potiphar's wife grabbed his [music] coat and said, "Stay with me." Joseph didn't pause to pray about it. He didn't try to reason with her. >> [music] >> He ran out of the house and left his coat behind. That's not cowardice, that's wisdom. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply remove [music] yourself from the situation entirely. Your future is worth more than one moment of giving in. Step two, renew your mind [music] deliberately. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, [music] but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Your mind is like a garden. Whatever you keep planting >> [music] >> grows. If you're feeding lust daily through what you watch, what you listen to, what you scroll through, you are literally watering the very [music] thing you're praying against. Renewal means intentionally replacing those inputs. More word, [music] more worship, less of whatever keeps pulling you back. Psalm 119:11 puts it this way, [music] "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." The word of God isn't just something you read on Sunday, it's a weapon you carry daily. When a lustful [music] thought comes, and it will come, you need something already loaded in your mind to fire back with. [music] That's why consistent time in scripture isn't optional for someone serious about breaking this cycle. You cannot starve [music] the flesh and feed the spirit at the same time you're consuming content that contradicts everything you're praying for. >> [music] >> The two cannot coexist for long. Step three, stop hiding in shame. This one is huge. Shame tells you to stay silent, to deal with it alone, to keep it between you and the darkness. But James 5:16 [music] says, "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other, so that you may be healed." Find one trusted, spiritually mature person, a pastor, a [music] mentor, an accountability partner. Lust thrives in secrecy. >> [music] >> It loses power the moment it's brought into the light. Here's something worth understanding. Shame is not from God. Romans 8:1 reminds us, "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." The enemy uses shame to keep you isolated, [music] because an isolated Christian is a vulnerable one. When you confess and invite [music] accountability into your life, you're not showing weakness, you're cutting off one of lust's greatest hiding [music] spots. Nobody is asking you to announce your struggles to the whole church, just one person, one safe, spirit-filled voice who can pray with you and [music] check on you. That kind of accountability has broken chains that years of solo praying couldn't. Listen, if you've made it [music] this far, here's what I need you to hear before you leave. You are not disqualified. Struggling with lust [music] does not make you a fake Christian, it makes you a human being in need of grace, and that grace [music] is available to you right now, today, no matter how many times you've fallen. The same God who restored [music] David after his worst moment is the same God you serve. The same Jesus who looked at a woman caught in the very [music] act of adultery and said, "Neither do I condemn you." John 8:11, is the same Jesus interceding for you right now. But grace was never meant to be a revolving [music] door, it's a hand reaching down to pull you up, not permission to stay on the floor. So, take the steps, flee, renew your mind, break the silence, [music] not because you're trying to earn God's love, but because you already have it, and you're [music] worth fighting for. Philippians 4:13 says it simply, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." So, here's your challenge. Pick just one of the three steps from this [music] video and apply it this week. Just one. That's how transformation starts, not with a massive overnight overhaul, but with one decision made consistently [music] over time. If this video spoke to you, share it with someone who needs [music] to hear it. You never know whose life that one share could change. And if you want more [music] content that helps you grow deeper in your faith, don't forget to click the like button and subscribe to Bible Undefeated. God's not done with you, not even close.
