Sam Altman is panicking right [music] now because the man who started OpenAI just left his own AI company to join Claude. Welcome to day 39 of AI update of the day. Andrej Karpathy just joined Anthropic. Let [music] me explain who this man is and why this matters. Karpathy is one of the most respected minds in AI on the planet. He was a founding member of OpenAI, then he left and spent 5 years at Tesla building the AI that lets their cars drive themselves. His superpower is making AI smarter without [music] just making it bigger. Every other lab is throwing more data and more compute at their models. Karpathy figures out how to make the model itself learn better, faster, more efficiently. And he just chose to work with Anthropic. [music] Now, think about what that means for Claude. The man who trained Tesla's AI on millions of hours of driving footage is now working [music] on the model you chat with every day. The coding, the reasoning, the way Claude thinks through problems, all of [music] that is about to get the Karpathy treatment. And here is a thought that should sit with you. Karpathy's work could lead to Claude [music] helping build the next version of its AI that improves AI. So, the Claude you use today might look like a rough draft by the end of the year.
