Good morning and welcome to leg two of the 2025 Sunraers Safari. Uh a much sunnier, brighter day here in Wentworth. More reflective of what we would have for the Sunraes Safari in terms of weather today with great news. Uh the rain has very much cleared and with the cooperation of both the Wentworth Shire and very very generous land owners, we are able to access the stages for today. Now, we're actually only going to do one stage, but what a stage it is. It is 177 km long. It is a brand new stage called Belmore, and it actually runs right the way to the South Australian border, which is quite a unique uh for our event. The first time we've ever been that close to South Australia. Uh we've told the competitors that we don't have permission to run in South Australia, so they need to stay on the right side of the fence. It brings us all the way through back to the Anna Branch Hall. Unfortunately, the stage we were going to run this afternoon walkoo, we've had to cancel because the wet weather we experienced yesterday, which was pretty wild, has swept through that entire area, and it is still unsafe to get our medical and safety crews in if we need to. The conditions yesterday certainly provided a unique challenge for competitors in the Sunra Safari. And one man who's joining us this morning, uh, from a long way away, hails from Clon Curry in Outback, Queensland. George Müller, um, this isn't what you signed up for, is it? >> No, not exactly. No, >> you've been here a couple of times and we've obviously provided fantastic weather normally. How did you go yesterday in those conditions? It's not something you'd experience even in Kari, is it? >> Oh, we get a bit of that at home, but you normally tend to hide inside for a while till it passes and then you're right. But, um, yeah, it was definitely pretty tough going yesterday and we kept it upright for most of it. So, that was pretty good. >> So, today obviously we're looking at much more traditional Sunraia weather. The conditions are looking pretty good. 177 km stage. What's the plan? I'll hopefully open it up a bit more today. It'll be a bit drier. Uh hopefully don't run into too many mud holes, but yeah, should be good. [Music] [Applause]
