[music] [music] Hello everyone. Welcome or welcome back to my YouTube channel. I'm Irene and I'm back with another crochet tutorial and today we're crocheting this bear holding the tiny little heart. So, this is a project I wanted to make for a while, mainly because it's so cute and since it's Valentine's is the perfect time to crochet something like this. [music] So, this project is going to be an amigroomi project. If you're new to crocheting and you don't know what it means, it is just the part of crocheting where you make plushies [music] and toys and your stitches are comparatively tighter and you mainly use single crochet. Amigurroomi has been something that I've not posted a lot. I don't make a lot of amigroomi because it just intimidates me for some reason. But I really wanted to get used to making amigroomi. So here we go. If you're a beginner and you've never made amigurroomi before or [music] even if you have never crocheted before, you don't have to worry because I've explained everything throughout the tutorial. Every stitch and everything that I have done has been explained in detail. For this project, I'm using milk cotton yarn with a 3 mm hook. You can use whatever yarn, but just make sure that you're using the appropriate hook size. Plus, because it's an amigroomi, it's [music] better to use a smaller hook. Okay? So, even if the recommended hook size is 3.5 mm, you can go for a 3 or 2.5 mm. That is what will give it that tight stitch look. I've used a kind of a an off-white creamish color here. Uh you can choose [music] that or whatever color you want your teddy bear to be like. With that, I'm also using a red for the heart and I'm using some black yarn for the detailing. I'm also using safety eyes. You can choose to use safety eyes or you can just embroider the eyes on. We will also need some scissors and [music] a tapestry needle. I'm also using a contrasting piece of yarn as [music] a stitch marker, but you can also use a normal stitch marker, whichever works for you. [music] Now, let's start crocheting. To begin, we'll start off by [music] making a magic ring. To make a magic ring, we'll wrap the yarn around two of our fingers like this. Then insert [music] the hook from the outer loop and pull the other loop through like this. And then hold it in place. Let go of the rest of the loop. and then wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through. That is the magic ring. Once we have the magic ring, we're now going to work into this magic ring and make single crochets. We need a total of six single crochet in the magic ring. But there's a slight difference in the single crochet that we'll make here [music] than other single crochets that we will yarn under instead of yarning over. I'll show you how that goes. So you'll insert the hook into this magic ring like this. Then usually we would do this [music] and pull up a loop. Okay? But instead of that we'll insert the hook into the magic ring. Then instead of doing this we will yarn [music] under. So the other way around. All right. So this is the usual one but [music] this is what we are going to do. And pull up a loop. Once you have this we will make a single crochet normally. So yarn over and [music] pull it through both the loops on the hook. That is your first single crochet. We'll continue making single crochets in the same way. [music] So insert the hook into the magic ring. Then yarn under, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through both the loops at once. All right. Insert the hook. Yarn [music] under. Pull up a loop. Yarn over. Pull through both the loops. Insert the hook. Yarn under, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through both the loops. So, we've made four single crochets so far. We'll [music] make two more. So, insert the hook, yarn under, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull [music] through both the loops. Then, insert the hook, yarn under, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both the loops. So, we have six single crochet in the magic [music] ring. And we are now going to tighten and close the magic ring. So pull this shorter end to close the ring. So the reason that we're doing yarn under instead of yarn over is to give it a better finish in the end. Okay? You can do yarn over as well. You can make normal single crochets as well. But once you finish it, you will see that there is a slight [music] difference in how the piece looks when you're using yarn under [music] instead of yarning over. Okay. And it's usually better to yarn under and then make a single crochet when making amigurumies. Now we are going to move on to the next row. But again, another thing that we have to keep in mind is that we are not going to slip stitch and join. [music] All right? We usually slip stitch and join and finish this round and then start the next round. [music] But in this project, we are going to work in a spiral. That means there will [music] not be any joins. We're just going to start the next round directly. So I have used a contrasting [music] piece of yarn as a stitch marker in this case. You can use a normal stitch marker [music] as well. So what we're going to do is that after we've made your six single crochet, we will place this contrasting yarn [music] in between the sixth single crochet and the first single crochet. So here. All right. That will mark the end of the first round. [music] Now we'll start the second round. Usually what we would do is that we'll join on top of the first single crochet by a [music] slip stitch and then chain one and start the next round. But here we will just insert the hook on top of the first single crochet here. Okay. So you can count these V's here to find out the first single crochet. So this is the first single crochet, second single crochet, third [music] one, fourth one, fifth one, and the sixth one. So, insert the hook on top of the sixth one like [music] this. Then yarn under, pull up a loop. We'll have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through both of them. So, we've made a single crochet for the next round without closing the previous round. [music] Okay. So, now we know from where it has started. So, wherever this piece of yarn is, that means that is where [music] it has started. Now in this round we are going to make two single crochet in every stitch. [music] So we've already made one single crochet in this stitch. We'll make another single crochet in the same space. Okay. So two single crochet in the first stitch. Now [music] we'll insert the hook on top of the next single crochet. Yarn under, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through both the loops. Again, [music] insert into the same space. Yarn under, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through both the loops. Right? So, two into that. Then two into [music] the next one. [music] Then two into the next one. Then two into the next one. [music] Then two into the last one. And we have reached wherever we had the stitch marker. Right? This was the single crochet before the stitch marker. And we have made two single crochet on top of this one. That means we have finished it. Another way to know if you finished or not is to count the single crochets. Since we had six single crochet in the previous round, we should have 12 single crochet in this round. So 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12. All right. And this is the last one. [music] That means we have 12 single crochet. So we have finished this properly. Now you have to mark the end of this round as well. So [music] you'll take the contrasting yarn and then bring it forward like this and place it right next to the last stitch. After that [music] is placed, we'll insert the hook into the next single crochet like this. Yarn under, pull up a loop, and [music] make a single crochet. So, we have started the third round here. In the third round, we going to make one single crochet and two single crochet into the next one. Two single crochet into one stitch is known as an increase, right? So, we've made one single crochet and into the next one, we're going to make an increase. Insert the hook into the next stitch. Yarn under. Pull up a loop. Yarn over. Pull through both. Insert [music] into the same space again. Y and under. Pull up a loop. Yarn over. Pull through both of them. So, we've made one single crochet, then a single crochet increase. We'll continue [music] this. So, one single crochet, then a single crochet increase. So, two single crochet into the next one. All right. Then one single crochet into the next one. Then an increase into the next one. Then one [music] single crochet into the next one and two single crochet into the next one. Then one single crochet. and then two single crochet. We have last two stitches left into which we'll make one single crochet. Then two single crochet into the [music] next one. With this, [music] we have finished this round as well. Okay, since this is the marker, now you're going to go ahead and count [music] the stitches. You should have 18 stitches in this round. Once you're sure about the stitches, we are now going to mark the end of this [music] round as well. Insert the hook into the next stitch. Yarn under, pull up a loop, and make a single crochet. So, we have started the fourth round. In this round, you're going to make one single crochet into the first two stitches. So, we've made one already. We'll make one into the next one, then an increase into the next stitch. [music] So, two single crochet into the next stitch. So, insert the hook and make a single crochet. Then [music] into the same space and make another single crochet. So, we've made one single crochet, one single crochet, and then an increase. [music] We'll continue the same. So, one single crochet, one single crochet, and then an increase. So, two single crochet. This is going to repeat till the [music] end of this round. One single crochet, one single crochet, and two single crochet. Okay, continue doing that till you reach the stitch mark. So, here I [music] finished the fourth round as well. And at the end of this round, you should have 24 single crochet. You're going to count back [music] to make sure. Okay. Then we will bring the stitch marker from [music] the back and place it right next to the last single crochet. Then insert the [music] hook into the next stitch and make a single crochet. In the next round, we're going to make one single crochet into the next three stitches [music] and then an increase. So one here, one into the next one, and one into [music] the next one. So we have three single crochet. Then we'll make [music] an increase in the next one like that. And then we'll make three singular [music] single crochets. So one here, one here, one here, and then an increase. So 1 2 3 then an increase. Then again one one then [music] an increase. And [music] we'll continue doing that till we reach the end of this round. With that, I have finished the fifth round. And at the end of [music] this round, you should have 30 single crochet. How do you know which round you are on? You're going to count from here. So, this [music] is the end of the round, right? So, we'll start from the center. So, this is 1 [music] 2 3 4 5. All right. Then we're going to place the stitch marker back and then make a single crochet into the next stitch like this. Okay. So we [music] have started the sixth round. Now from here we are not going to increase. Okay. In all the previous rounds we were increasing because we wanted to increase the size of the circle. So this is the size that the head of the teddy bear is going to be like. So we're not going to increase the size anymore. So, we're going to keep the stitch count the same. How do you keep the stitch count the same? [music] By making one single crochet into all the stitches. Okay? So, this is going to be easy. No increases. Only make one single crochet into every stitch. So, this one. All right. [music] I just made one single crochet into all the stitches. Just continue doing that till you reach the end of this [music] round. So here I'm at the end of the sixth round [music] and I have made one single crochet into all the stitches. And at the end of this round you should have the same number of stitches [music] that you had in the previous round which is 30 single crochet. All right. Then I'll bring the stitch marker and place it right [music] next to the last stitch. Insert the hook into the next stitch and make a single crochet. All right. So, we have started the seventh round. Now, the seventh round, the eighth round and the ninth round are going to be the same, [music] which is just make one single crochet into every stitch. All right? So, when you do that, the size of the circle will not increase. So, till now, we were increasing the radius of the circle. Now, we are going to increase the height of the circle. So continue [music] making one single crochet into every single stitch till you have nine rounds in total. So here I'm at the end of the ninth round [music] and at the end of this round again we'll have 30 stitches. So we'll have 30 [music] stitches in every round from the sixth round till the ninth round. Once the ninth round is done, we're now going to start the 10th one. So we'll place the stitch marker. Then insert the hook into the next stitch and make a [music] single crochet. For the 10th round, we're going to make one single crochet in the next three stitches. So, [music] here and here, right? 1 2 3. Then in the next one, we going to decrease. [music] Okay? So, now we're going to slowly close it. So, for that, we will decrease. [music] In general, we usually decrease by inserting the hook into both the stitches and then [music] making a single crochet. But when making amigroomi, we make an invisible decrease. To [music] make an invisible decrease, we'll insert the hook into the front loop of the next stitch. Okay? Usually, we'll insert like this into both the loops. But here, we're only going [music] to insert into the front loop of the first stitch after the last stitch. Then we'll insert the hook into the front loop of the next stitch as well, like this. So we'll have two [music] loops and this one loop. So three loops on the hook. I'll show that again. [music] So this was the last stitch. This is the next stitch and the stitch after that. [music] Insert the hook into the front loop of the next stitch. Then into the front loop of the stitch after that. Like this. Then yarn over and pull through both these front loops. Like this. Okay. [music] Then yarn over and pull through both the loops. And with that you've made an invisible decrease. And this is the kind of decrease that is usually made in amigroomi. [music] We'll make one single crochet in the next three stitches now. So we've worked into these. We'll insert the hook into the next one and make a single crochet. One into [music] the next one. One into the next one. Then in the next [music] two we'll decrease. So insert the hook like this. Then into the next one only into the front loops. Yarn under. Pull up a loop. Right. Yarn over. Pull through both of them. Then [music] insert the hook into the next three stitches and make a single crochet in the next three stitches. and then [music] make a decrease in the next one. So, insert the hook into the front loop of the next one [music] as well. Yarn under, pull through both of them. [music] Then make a single crochet. 1 2 3 then a decrease. So I've continued in the same way by making one single crochet in the next three stitches and then a decrease till [music] the end of this round. Okay. And at the end of this round you should have 24 single crochet. After that [music] you'll place the stitch marker and start the next round by making a single crochet. Now, in the next round, we're going to make one single crochet in the next two stitches [music] and then a decrease. So, we've already made one single crochet. Into the next one, we'll make [music] a single crochet and then we'll decrease. So, front loop, front loop, then make a single crochet. All right. [music] Then single crochet in the next two stitches again. Then decrease by making a front loop, front loop decrease, single [music] crochet, single crochet, then a decrease. Continue doing that till the end of this round. So here we finished the 11th round [music] as well. At the end of this round, you should have 18 single crochet in total. And at this point, you can see that the head is taking shape. Now we're going to make the last round of decreases by making one single crochet, then a decrease. [music] So we just finished this round. We'll start the next one by making a single crochet. And then we'll make a decrease right after the single crochet. So here. All right. Then make a single crochet. Then make a decrease single crochet decrease. Continue doing [music] that till the end of the round. At this point, you can see that it is taking the shape and [music] the space is getting smaller. And this is the point where you will do the things that you can't do later on, which is adding the [music] eyes and the mouth and filling it up with a [music] fiberfill. We'll first add the eyes. I am going to use safety eyes here. If you want, you can just embroider [music] them as well. I'm going to embroider the mouth, but the eyes are going to be the safety eyes. So I'm going to place the safety eyes in between the sixth and the seventh round. [music] So this is the first round. Second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth. Right? This is the sixth round. This is the seventh round. I'll [music] place it between the two. So somewhere here, insert [music] it. So I'm going to place the next one at a distance of five stitches. So 1 2 3 4 5 here. All right. If you want more distance between the [music] eyes, you can keep it a bit more farther. Or if you want it closer, you can skip lesser [music] stitches. Once you're fine with where it is placed, we're going to close it by adding the stopper on the back. So like this. And then we going to [music] embroider the mouth. For the mouth, we going to take a darker yarn and then thread it through a tapestry needle and then make the nose and the mouth wherever you want it to be. So I want it to be somewhere here. [music] So I'll insert the needle from the inside and bring it up like this. You're going to leave the end [music] right here. Don't pull it all the way. Then leave the next two stitches and [music] insert the needle again. This will act as the nose. [music] I'll go through the same place once more to make the nose thicker like that. [music] And once that is done, we're going to make one little line here. So, we'll insert the needle here from the inside like this. Insert it in the center of the nose somewhere here. Once you're happy with the placement, you're going to tie this up. Tie the two [music] ends. So, bring the knot closer to the sides. [music] Okay. And then tie it up again. Don't pull onto the sides. [music] Just push it in like this. And then tie it up. You have made [music] the face. And now we are going to fill this head up with the fiber fill. Fill it up till you know that it has taken its proper shape. We are going to move on to the 13th [music] round. We've made 12 rounds so far and that is the head part. We're now going to continue making rounds for the body. At the end of the last round, you should have 12 stitches. [music] So, after the last decrease, we will keep the stitch marker like this. Insert the hook into the next stitch [music] and we'll make one single crochet. and then we'll make another single crochet in the same stitch. So we've made an increase. So in this round we're going to make one increase in every stitch. So we are going to increase in every stitch. So, two single crochet again. Two single crochet and do it throughout this round. So, once you've made an increase in every single stitch, we should have something like this. At the end of this round, you should have 24 single crochet. That was the 13th round. We will now mark the end of this round and start [music] the next round by making a single crochet on top of the next stitch. Now we're going to [music] start the 14th round for which we'll make one single crochet into every stitch. All right. So into [music] all the stitches we're just going to make one single crochet. So, here I have finished [music] the 14th row and I've made one single crochet into every stitch and I have 24 stitches at [music] the end of this round. All right. Now, we're going to mark the end of this round and we'll start the next one by making a single crochet. Now, we [music] have started the 15th round. So, for the 15th, 16th, 17th, and the 18th round, we going to do the same thing, which [music] is making one single crochet into every single stitch. At the end of all these rounds, we should have 24 single crochet. So go on ahead and make the next four rounds by making no increases or decreases, just one single crochet into every stitch. [music] So here we are done with 18 rounds. All right, count from here till here if you're unsure. [music] And we did not decrease anything. So we have 24 stitches in total. Now we are going to decrease so that we [music] can close this. All right. So to do that we are going to first mark [music] the starting of the next round. Then make a single crochet in the next one like that. Then we [music] are going to make another single crochet in the next stitch. And then we going to decrease. And we're going to decrease the same way that we did before [music] which is an invisible decrease. So to do that, insert the hook into the front loop of the next stitch and [music] the one after that. Then pull up a loop and pull it through both the like this. Okay. Then make [music] two single crochet in the next two stitches. Then make a decrease [music] in the next. All right. Then [music] make a single crochet. Then make another single crochet. Then make a decrease and continue by making two single crochet decrease then two single crochet. Repeat this till you reach the end of this round. Once you're done with this round, you should have 18 stitches in total. Then we going to mark the end of this round and [music] start the next one by making one single crochet like this. After this one single crochet, we're going to make a decrease directly. So in the previous one, we made two single crochet, then a decrease. Now we're going to make one single crochet. Then a decrease. Then a single crochet. Then a decrease. Then again a single crochet. Then a decrease. Then a single crochet. a decrease and continue doing that till the end of this round. So we finished this round as well which was the 20th round and [music] at the end of this round you should have 12 single crochet and again you can see that the opening has become very small and we [music] are going to fill it with fiberfill before closing it completely. So here I have completely filled the whole thing up with fiberfill. Now we are going to move on to the 21st round which will basically be the last round [music] here. We'll mark it like this and we'll make one decrease in the beginning [music] itself. Okay. So no single crochets in this round. We're just going to decrease. So one decrease, second one, third one, fourth one, fifth one. Then make [music] a last decrease in the last two stitches. And I'll just slip stitch into the next stitch for which we'll insert the hook. Yarn over, pull up a loop, and pull it through the loop on the hook. Tighten it. [music] Chain one and cut the yarn with a little bit of tail. Then we will do this [music] and pass this end through a needle. And we'll sew the [music] ends up. We'll insert the needle like this. Just insert the needle till you feel that it's closed. And once you've completely closed it, we're going to secure [music] it like this. And then [music] insert the needle into the work. Bring it out from one side, any side, like this. and hide the tail and cut the rest of the yarn. And [music] just hide it like that. And then we will remove the stitch marker like this. Or you can do that one by one. Or you can also pull it at [music] once like this. And with that, you have made the body of [music] your teddy bear. Now, we're just going to go on ahead and make the limbs and the ears. We're now going to go ahead and make the [music] legs. To make the legs, we're now going to start with the magic ring again by wrapping the yarn around two of our fingers. Insert from the outer loop. Pull the other loop through. Then, hold it in place. Let go of the rest [music] of the yarn. Then yarn over and pull it through the loop on the hook and tighten it. [music] So the magic ring, we'll tighten it. And into this magic ring, we are going to make six single crochet [music] just the way we did before. So insert the hook, yarn under, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both [music] the loops. So that's a single crochet. We'll make total of six single crochets into this magic ring. [music] So 2 3 4 5 and six. Once you have your six single crochet, you're going to pull the shorter end and close the magic ring. And we're going to mark the end of this round. [music] We again going to use a piece of yarn. And then we'll start the next round by inserting the hook on top of the first single crochet. You can count [music] back to find the first single crochet. Insert the hook here. And into the first single crochet, we are going to make one single crochet. All right. And then in the next one, we'll make an increase. So, two single crochet. So, two single crochet into the same stitch. Then into the next one, we're going to make one single crochet. Then into the next one, we're going to make two single crochet or an increase. All right. Then into the next one we'll make one single crochet. Then into [music] the next one make two or an increase. So we finished the second round and at the end of this round you should have nine [music] single crochet. All right we will mark the end of this round and then [music] we'll make a single crochet into the next stitch. So for the third round, we're just going to make one single crochet into all the nine [music] stitches. So one, then one into the next one, then [music] one into the next one, then into the next one. And continue doing this till you reach the [music] end of this round. So that is the third round that we just finished. And now we'll mark the end of that round by placing the marker. Now [music] we'll start the fourth round for which again we're just going to make one single crochet into every stitch. So here I finished the fourth round by making one single crochet into every stitch. [music] Now we'll mark the end of this fourth round. And then for the fifth round, we're going to again make one single crochet into [music] every stitch. So we have [music] five rounds in total. After this round, we are going to decrease. So we'll mark the end of this round and we'll make one single crochet into the [music] next stitch. Then we'll decrease in the next one. So insert the hook into the front loop of the next stitch [music] and the one after that and make a single crochet. Then again make a single crochet and then a [music] decrease. Then [music] make a single crochet and then a decrease. All right, like that. So, we have made six rounds for the leg. We'll then insert the hook into the next [music] stitch and make a slip stitch. So, yarn over, pull up a loop, and pull it through the loop on the hook like this. [music] Then chain one, tighten it, and we'll cut the yarn with a little bit of tail. Just do this. And we'll remove the stitch marker. This is the leg. You'll make another one just like this one. We're then going to make the [music] arms for which we'll start by making a magic ring. And we'll make six single crochet into this magic ring. 3 4 5 6 and then we [music] will tighten it and close it. Then we will mark the end of this round and we'll start the new round by [music] making a single crochet on top of the first single crochet. So [music] here and for the next round we again going to make one single crochet into every [music] stitch. So just six single crochet in total. So I've made the first one. I'll make the second one. Third one. Fourth one. Fifth one. and the sixth one. At this point, your work might start curling up. [music] You're going to turn it the other way so that the right side is out. You're going to mark the end of that round and make one single crochet into the [music] next stitch. Then again [music] for the third round, you're going to make one single crochet into every stitch. So this [music] might be a bit difficult because it's a very small piece that you're working into, [music] but you should get it after this. Once you have six stitches, again [music] you will mark it and start the next one. So I've made three rounds. I'm going to make the fourth one. So one stitch, two stitches, 3 4 5 and six. All right. Then we're going to mark it again and we'll [music] make the fifth round which will be the last round. So 1 2 3 4 5 6. And with this you have finished five rounds [music] for the arm. We've made six stitches in every round. Now we'll insert the hook into the next stitch and [music] make a slip stitch. So pull up a loop and pull it through the loop on the hook. Then chain one and cut the yarn. [music] And you'll make another one just like this one to get two arms in total. [music] We have one last thing to make which is an ear for which again we'll start with a magic ring. Then we'll make [music] six single crochet into this magic ring. Close the magic ring. Mark it. Then into the first stitch, you're going to make two single crochet. [music] So insert the hook into the first stitch here. Then make a single crochet. Then make another single crochet in the same space. Then the next one make again two single crochet. Then the [music] next one again two single crochet. So an increase in the [music] next one make two single crochet again. And continue doing this till you reach the end of this round. Into [music] the next one, make two. At the [music] end of this round, you should have 12 single crochet in total. We are then going to mark the end of this and make one single crochet into the next stitch. So, we have started [music] the third round. In the third round, you're only going to make one single crochet into [music] every stitch. All right, just make one single crochet into all the stitches. Once you've made the third round, we are going to finish this piece as well by inserting the hook into the next stitch. Yarn [music] over, pull up a loop, and pull it through the loop on the hook. Then chain one and fasten off. You've made the ear. Go ahead and make another one of these. So, you'll have [music] all of the pieces that we have to add to it. Once all the pieces are made, we're now ready to join it. So, I'll use a pin to place wherever I want this to be. And for the other one as well. Similarly for the legs as well. You're going to place them wherever you feel that it [music] look best. Okay. So, somewhere like this. Once you're sure about it, we are going to sew it up. Make sure not to get pricricked by the needles. So, once it is in [music] place, we're just going to sew it up. Just pass the needle through the body and through the arm like this. any stitch of the body and [music] the end of the arm. Once you know that it's joined, you can remove the pin. And if you want, you can go through it again. >> [music] >> And once you're sure that it's in place, you're going to insert the needle and pass it through like this to secure the end. [music] And once it's secure, you're going to insert that through the body of the piece and bring it out from [music] the other side. Tighten it and then cut the yarn and then make it go back [music] into the body like that. So we have fixed the arm here. Okay. We'll do the same on the other side as well. All the limbs have been attached. Now we have one last thing to do which is the ears. Again place [music] the ears where you want them to be and pin it in something like [music] this. It will be slightly bent here. So we'll enter [music] the needle on the side where the eye is. So somewhere around here. like that. Insert the needle through the front. Bring it down to the back. Bring it through the back and pull it up through the body. Can [music] remove the pin whenever you feel ready. Then sew it in place. Tie it up like this and pass the needle through the body of the bear. like [music] this. We'll do the same on the other side as well. With that, you finished making the bear. Now the only thing that is left to do is to add the heart. So [music] this is a tiny little heart that I've made that we going to give him to hold.
