Let's imagine the existence of a perfect God, and this god decided to write a book so he can communicate with us, since it's a perfect God Then it's expected that his book would be completely clear to everyone and wouldn't have any mistakes, contradictions or logical fallacies these specifications apply to the Quran, So let's put this to the test and see what we find! A logical fallacy is using incorrect or inaccurate reasoning when building a logical argument that makes the conclusion appear better than it is in reality I'll share a couple examples so the video can be brief and beneficial we start with the (Strawman Fallacy) Which is when we suppose the other side's position from our mind then give an answer which has nothing to do with the other person's position For example, If a person asked me: "Kosay, do you believe in the existence of the Islamic god?" and I answer: "No, I don't" so he says: "Oh, so you think we evolved from Monkeys, is that reasonable? This is the fallacy, He presupposed my position, then built an answer that had nothing to do with the thing I said at all we read from the Quran, the verse that says (Sura Al-Hijr 14-15): "And even if we opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend" "They would say: our eyes have only been dazzled! rather, we are a people affected by magic!" This verse is talking about the kuffar (infidels) which asked Mohammed for miracles and when Mohammed couldn't bring them miracles, the argument came down from Allah like this which is: even if we gave you miracles, even if we opened a door to the heavens you would turn your heads and say: "We didn't see anything" or you would say:
"We are a people affected by magic! This is magic you're doing not a miracle!" and here is the strawman fallacy, instead of bringing them evidence and showing them a miracle He supposed their position and accused them of things that haven't said! The second Fallacy is shifting the burden of proof this fallacy occurs when we make a certain claim and instead of bringing evidence for this claim, we put the burden of proof on the other side For example: I can claim that I talk to Myriam Fares (Lebanese celebrity) every night I have her phone number and I talk to her A person asks me for proof, so I tell him:
"You give me proof that I DON'T talk with Myriam Fares every night!" Even though I made the claim and I'm the one forced to back it up I shifted the burden of proof and put it on the other side, a very cheap and illogical move, we read the verse that says (surah Al-Baqarah 23): "and if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant (Muhammad) then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful" The claim is that the God of the universe is sending a message to the Kuffar (Infidels) through Mohammed so when these infidels ask for proof, the Creator-God, instead of providing them with proof and making it clear for them No, He says YOU bring a Quran like it!
He shifts the burden of proof onto them, this is the fallacy and it's very strange that an all-wise god falls into a cheap fallacy such as this The last fallacy is the "Non sequitur" fallacy and this is a fallacy that arises when we reach a conclusion that has nothing to do with the premises of the argument For example, if I want to build an argument with two premises and a conclusion, I could say: "Friends is the best series is the World" "Joey is the best actor in this series" Therefore, the conclusion is that Joey should be the president The conclusion has nothing to do with the premises, and using it might be a comedic thing We read from the verse that says, that by the way comes after "Bring a Surah like it" (surah Al-Baqarah 24): "But if you do not, and you will not be able to, then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones" So if we put this in the same model as the other argument something very strange happens, we get two fallacies in one! Which goes as follows: Bring a quran like it No one can bring a Quran like it What is the conclusion? it is: Allah exists and the Quran comes from him! Circular reasoning plus non-sequitur! two in one! Let's begin with the first contradiction:
which is the concept of the "oneness" Of Allah There is no disagreement in Islam that Allah is the one and only, It's an absolutely monotheistic religion, and there's a verse that says: (Surah Al-Hashr 22): "And he is Allah, and there is no god but him" but at the same time, we read in many verses the following sentence: (from Sura al-muminun 14): "So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators" The best of creators? how can there be only one god and at the same time there are other creators? Obviously the traditional islamic answer for this,
which is not very good, we can find it everywhere on youtube all the scholars copy and paste the same answer from Sharawi
(Popular Egyptian Imam) and all those other people, which goes as follows: "The best of creators here doesn't mean there are other creators, astagferallah, the creators here refer to humans meaning if a human created a car, if Allah created this car he'd make it much better than the human, this is what the verse means" which is obviously very mistaken, when a human makes a car this is not creation, creation is making something out of nothing, and the human, when he makes a car, he doesn't make it out of nothing a human, when he makes a car, phone table, or anything he makes, we take prexisting materials, put them together, and give them a new name "car" "phone" or "table", so this isn't called creation, this is called building, so man does not create, he builds and supposedly the only person how can create things out of nothing is Allah! so this verse, when it says: "So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators" it was supposed to say, if it really were to go along with this interpretation: "So Blessed is Allah, the best of builders" and here we have a direct contracdiction to the concept of "He is Allah, there is no god but him", and at the same time he's the "Best of Creators" because "Best of Creators", clearly shows that there should be other creators so this verse has two interpretations or justifications that have no third either Allah has other creators alongside him and he's claiming to be the best one or the writer of this verse has no understanding of logic or philosophy and he didn't comprehend the contradiction he was making while writing this verse the second contradiction, which is supposed to be that the quran's verses are airtight, clear and in an clear arabic tongue anyone that reads it can fully understand it and there's no problem at all, and we have more than 20 verses that show us it's a clear book Surah Al-Baqara 2: "This is the book about which there is no doubt" Surah Al-Hijr 1: "these are the verse of the book and a clear Quran" Surah Ya-Sin 69: "This is only a Reminder and a clear Quran" And many other verses, but at the same time during the life of Mohammed a lot of people disagreed on the meaning for the verses and their interpretation And there were verses that no one knew what they meant, so Allah, to explain the problem to them brought down a verse that says: Surah Ali 'Imran 3: "He is the One Who has revealed to you, (O Prophet) the Book, of which some verses are airtight —they are the foundation of the Book, while others are elusive" Meaning yes we have sent airtight and clear verses, but we have also sent elusive verses! Which is the complete opposite of airtight and clear (contination of verse 3): "Those with deviant hearts follow the elusive verses seeking ˹to spread˺ doubt through their interpretations—but none grasps their meaning except Allah Meaning there were kuffar making fun of these verses so they can cause disorder among Muslims and there are Muslims who try to interpret these verses however nobody knows the meaning but Allah From Allah's prespective good Muslims are the ones he called: "As for those well-grounded in knowledge, they say: “We believe in this ˹Quran˺—it is all from our Lord.” The elusive verses are those which are unclear, which may have many interpretations, or their ruling might have been changed by newer verses Or they may just have no meaning at all, and nobody knows it's meaning but Allah, like it was written: "Nobody knows their meaning but Allah" So here we have a clear contradiction, some verses say it's a book about which there is no doubt and we have revealed to you clear verses and so on andt this verse says: no, it actually does have airtight verses, but it also has verses which aren't airtight at all! elusive verses And this isn't the only problem we have a bigger one which is that Allah wanted to communicate with humans in a clear way and send down clear verses and at the same time he wrote elusive verses which no one understands their meaning but him only Even the prophet himself didn't know the meaning of these verses because he warned his Sahaba (Companions) from sitting with the kuffar who were making fun of these verses and their interpretations and he even warned them from sitting with the Muslims who were trying to interpret these verses!
(Source: Sahih Muslim 2665) because Allah is the only one which knows their meaning, so the big picture here is that Allah wrote down a book which has clear verses and it has completely unclear verses which have no interpretation and he blames humans for not understanding these verses! but who's going to go to Jannah (Heaven)?
only the Muslims who say: we have believed that it is ALL from Allah Yes, Allah said they are clear and airtight and at the same time he said that there are elusive ones, no problem here! we believe in both even though there's a contradiction in this, and he calls them "well-grounded in knowledge" and "those with strong righteous minds" in another instance Where, Where is the intelligence in this?
blind faith without any thinking requires no intelligence whatsoever And what's weird is that the god which is capable of everything couldn't write a book which is completely clear and has no elusive verses at all Which, supposedly the only book we ever got from Allah was the Quran meaning he had one job, he only had one job, to write this Quran and give it to us and even this he couldn't fully do it There are airtight and also elusive verses The third contradiction: when the Kuffar of Quraysh asked Mohammed for miracles so they could make sure his prophethood was true Mohammed couldn't bring them any miracles, and Allah explained why Mohammed couldn't bring them any miracles in many verses However one of them says: Surah Al-Isra 59: "Nothing hindered Us from sending Our Signs except that the people of olden times rejected them as lies" "signs" here mean miracles, and I know that a lot of friends are going to say: "Kosay, what are you saying? the prophet had many miracles! "He brought forth water from his hand and split the moon and so on..." My friends, these miracles were invented 200 years after the death of the prophet in the seerah and hadiths etc... However, if we're going to talk about the Quran, the Quran clearly shows that Mohammed did no miracles whatsoever And his job wasn't even to bring miracles! but let's go back to the verse that says: (Surah Al-Isra 59): "Nothing hindered Us from sending Our Signs except that the people of olden times rejected them as lies" Meaning, one day, Allah sent down signs to the people of Thamud and others, and they didn't believe so Allah learned that sending miracles wouldn't change anything, so he decided that "from here on out there won't be any miracles for anyone!" To start, this verse directly contradicts the other verse that says: "No bearer of burdens shall bear another's burden" If the people of Thamud didn't believe in the miracles then this thing or sin should not carry over to the people of Quraysh, they have nothing to do with it But this isn't the only problem, this verse directly contradicts the concept of the "All-knowing" God because Allah is supposed to be all-knowing, he knows the past, present and future, in other words, he already knew before he brought down the verses to the people of Thamud and others, that they wouldn't belive in these signs! But the verse that says: "Nothing hindered Us from sending Our Signs" You can't understand from it that Allah is all-knowing, no! You understand from it that Allah didn't they weren't going to believe in these signs He he was forced to bring the miracles to the people of Thamud and when he saw they didn't believe in it he then learned that miracles aren't enough and that he doesn't have to use them again And this shows that this god isn't all-knowing! If he was all-knowing he wouldn't have sent miracles to the people of Thamud and the others Because he's supposed to already know that they wouldn't believe in these miracles, but it's clear he didn't know He had to send down the miracles first so he could learn this Contradiction number 4 is about the wahi (revelation),
upon which the whole understanding of the religion of Islam is built The only way the creator of the universe could communicate with Mohammed, the verse says: Surah Ash-Shūraá 51: "And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition or He sends a messenger to reveal, by His permission, what He wills" This is the special and unique way Allah uses to communicate with Mohammed but what's weird is that the Shaytaan (Devil) was able to use the same method and bring Mohammed revelations and Mohammed wasn't able to differentiate the verses that came from the Devil and the verses that supposedly came from Allah And what's weirder is that Allah couldn't stop the devil! and he let him relay false verses to Mohammed, and Mohammed recited these false verses And after this happened Allah sent down Jibreel to tell him he had recited verses that weren't sent by Allah And then Allah replaced the verses that Shaytaan had sent to Mohammed, and what was Allah's explanation for this? it went like this: Surah Al-Hajj 52: And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke (or recited) Satan threw into it (some minunderstanding) But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in then Allah makes precise his verses, and Allah is Knowing and Wise Where is the knowledge and wisdom in this? The Shaytaan was able to relay verses to Mohammed Mohammed wasn't able to differentiate between Allah and the Shaytaan's verses and Allah just let him, or maybe he was powerless to do anything and wasn't able to stop the Shaytaan and he had to wait until it was over and THEN he replaced the verses And this contradicts with two verses the first verse that says Allah is the one which gives Revelation to his prophet and it describes to us the way which Revelation comes It's contradiction is that the Shaytaan was able to relay verses to the prophet in the same way and the prophet couldn't differentiate And it also contradicts with the verse that says: "As for the Quran, indeed it is We Who have revealed it and it is indeed We Who are its guardians" And generally this puts a lot of question marks on the power of Allah and his Wisdom, why would he even let something like this happen? But the Dawah brothers today try with all their power to stay away from this topic and not talk about it and poke as many holes in the narrative as possible, and they ignore this verse which makes this very clear The fifth contradiction and this is my favorite because it was one of the first things that I thought about when I was a muslim The muslim brothers build lightning rods on top of mosques, every mosque has a lightning rod, even in Mecca The Prophetic mosque and even the pillars around it all have lightning rods And there seems to be nothing wrong with it just a safety precaution so no one gets hurt there, but the problem appears, or the contradiction appears when we read the verse that says: "And the thunder exalts (Allah) with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him and He sends thunderbolts and strikes there with them whom He wills Meaning Allah sends the lightning Allah is the one who controls the thunder and lightning and he strikes whom he wishes with them, so obviously Allah won't strike his homes (which are the mosques) that people pray in and hurt them, nor will he strike anything in Mecca So the question is: why do the Muslim brothers build lightning rods on top of Allah's houses? and even on top of the Prophetic mosque and towers close to the Kaaba? This video shows the clock tower which is behind the Kaaba in the view of the Muslim brothers if they really believe the words of Allah that Allah really is the one that controls the thunder and lightning and all that They shouldn't build lightning rods in these places, especially the Kaaba! it's clear that the Muslims brothers have learned the historical lesson that all religionists have learned That nature doesn't care at all about our gods or beliefs and it just strikes randomly Contradiction number six which is about free will, that Allah gave us free will and that we choose what we want To back this up they cite the verse which says:
"so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve" Many of the Dawah brothers use this verse to claim that we have free will, that we choose belief or disbelief and there are even "cuter" Dawah brothers that show it to prove that Allah has no problem even with disbelief! Meaning, Allah, even if you disbelieve, he doesn't have a problem with it! he said: "so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve" However anyone who burdens himself to only read the next verse will know what happens to those who choose disbelief There's no free will or choice at all, it's exactly like a man putting a gun up to my head and saying: "Give me the money!" and also saying:
"You're free! You can give me the money or not! you can choose!" Where is the freedom of choice here? But that's not the problem, the problem is that this verse contradicts a LOT of the Quran, for example: Surah Yunus 100:"And it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah" how can
"so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve"? go along with
"And it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah"? There's something wrong here, another verse: Surah Fatir 8:
"And he is the one whom made the evil of his deed appear attractive" So it just starts off Terribly, stabbing at free will immedately...
however the rest of the verse: "For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills" How can we have:
"so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve" and Allah guiding and misguiding people at the same time? And I know some brothers are going to play that game saying: "Who wishes refers to the person and not Allah!" I advise you to look into it and read about it because this interpretation is completely incorrect, Another verse: Surah At-Takwir 29: "And you do not will except that Allah wills, Lord of the worlds" Surah Al-Baqarah 253: "And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought, but Allah does what He wants" Here Allah is talking about wars between people of different religions etc In all this, keep that verse in your mind:
"so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve" (Surah An-Nahl 93): "And if Allah had willed, He could have made you of one religion but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills" Again it's clear here who the "will" belongs to, the control of the will to guide or lead astray is clear, man has nothing to do with it at all It's as if whoever wrote these verses never heard of something called: "Logical Reasoning" The seventh and final contradiction, which is about the Quran as a book All of us know that Allah took the task of guarding the Quran when he said: (Surah Al-hijr 9): "It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it" And the prophet, which doesn't say anything on a whim, because god supposedly reveals things through him, so he can't possibly be wrong He chose 4 "memorizers" for the Quran and he told the Muslims to not take the Quran from anyone else The four memorizers: Abdullah ibn Masud, Salim Mawla Abi Hudhayfa, Ubayy ibn Ka'b and Muadh ibn Jabal The prophet himself handpicked these people to deliver the Quran correctly after he passes and after his death two of the memorizers took the task of gathering the Quran, which were Abdullah ibn Masud and Ubayy ibn Ka'b Abdullah ibn Masud said the Quran must be 108 Surahs, Ubayy ibn Ka'b said "No! the Quran must be 105 surahs!" And he said that there were many Surahs which shouldn't be there, And he gave an example which was Surah Al-Fatiha And he said it was only a prayer and didn't belong in the Godly Quran I agree with Ubayy here because if we read the faitha we see it really is just a prayer, there's no way a god is talking about himself with himself to himself It's very strange, but the idea is that they disagreed, one said the Quran had to be 108 Surahs and the other said: "No, it's 105 Surahs!" But the current Quran we have now is 114 Surahs! So what's happening here? We explained this in detail in the last episode, but what we can understand from this goes as follows: Allah sent the Quran to the Prophet through Revelation, and he (Allah) took the task of guarding the Quran The prophet, which doesn't do anything on a whim, picked a few memorizers and told the people to not take the Quran except from them after he passes These memorizers, while they were gathering the Quran disagreed on the number of Surahs in this Quran, one said 108, the other said 105 Our current Quran contains 114!
There's no contradiction at all! Everything is dandy! All this exists in the same book which contains a verse that says: (Surah An-Nisā' 82): "Do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from any other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction!" The verse which I agree with 100%! In conclusion: it's very weird and depressing that an all-perfect god falls into contradictions and logical fallacies like these that people in our time don't fall into, it's very weird, so it might be, that this book was man-made by the people that lived 1500 years ago and had no understanding of philosophy or logic, but it cannot be from an all-perfect god Also it might be that there is a great creator for this great universe but he also cannot be this ignorant So love with your heart,
but think with your mind, and wash your hands, Peace!
