A house that's been abandoned for years suddenly has a bamboo chute growing straight through the concrete floor. But honestly, what you're seeing is only the tip of the iceberg. If one chute is coming up inside the house, that usually means the underground root system is already everywhere beneath it. At that point, the whole house is basically done for. Bamboo roots grow aggressively underground, constantly absorbing nutrients and storing energy. Deep below the surface, countless bamboo shoots are literally lined up, waiting for their turn to break through. And the scary part is just how much force a bamboo shoot can generate while growing.
