Keith JRHS Boiler

I'm here at Keith Junior High School in the basement. Uh at a place where I bet you not many of you have ever been. No matter how many of you went to school here, not many people have been in what we call the mechanical room here. And the real gem of this place is this coal boiler. How cool is this thing? I mean, those doors, they got to weigh thousands of pounds there. And this shoot, this is where the coal was dropped in. >> [snorts] >> And there was a track up above that would take all of the coal into a bin from outside that door there and drop it right back into this shoot, right? How cool is this? Those of you know things about coal boilers, um man, everything's just big. This is where they would have gotten, I believe, all the ashes out. Um and then this this uh this arm here, I've had some HVAC guys go in, this is about 10 times bigger than you what you would have had at your home coal uh furnace. Uh so, super cool, super cool spot. And um I just thought I'd share it with you uh cuz I I bet you not many people of you have seen this spot. So, uh just one of the many really interesting things here at Keith Junior High School.
