hi this is Ja in this video we shall see the summary of pride a poem by Talia ravik kovich the main idea of this poem is to explain how individual's level of Pride can be broken or can fade away that is generally Pride means we will associate with proudness being very proud of yourself but here the poet says that there are some people people who will not like to show their sorrow or their suffering to others they may face so many hindrances and uh there may be events where they'll have to be feeling shameful about themsel but they will cover it up without showing it to others they don't wait for others pity or they don't want others to intervene and help them out but there are certain instances it is a certain time when the Pride can be broken or that Pride can fade away and she explores different poetic devices in this poem and analogy is used throughout the poem and she also uses metaphors inclusive language to make the reader feel a part of the poetry and personification because here rocks are described as human beings and the phrases which are used here are used to draw the reader attention Dalia personifies rocks to show similarity to to the rocks and the people that is rocks are mentioned here but she's actually talking about people and she uses the imagery of the stone to assist the reader in relating to Pride she tries to show that an individual can get hurt but we can stay without revealing it which eventually leads him or her to crack and crumble at one time whoever is going to shatter them hasn't come yet the author has been focused on what the rocks have been doing for years and suddenly focuses on what will happen to them it is an example of hyperball as The Rock will not actually shatter to Pieces but it'll only crack she emphasizes this by implying that even rocks can sit for years and suddenly break the rocks are in a dormant state that is without any movement indicating no life in them but that also indicates that people feel safe and sometimes stagnant the poem has portrayed the Rocks as vital hiding their Falls but the author acknowledges how weak they are the crack is referring to Falls in people she uses metaphors like the rock having an open w additionally she Compares moss and seaweed moving around the rocks for years but a small seal causing the rock to break to people the seal represents a slight setback a short time of hardship the irony is seen when a little animal can destroy a rocker the author symbolizes that even the most assertive individuals can succumb to errors the entire poem is a metaphor for human Pride individuals are compared to rocks who don't risk life in fear of revealing a fault Pride makes it impossible for humans to be held together pride is seen to lead to unforeseen downfalls and people two is the poem's climax where the author emphasises the metaphor between rocks and individuals this form themee shows how that no matter how healthy an individual is he or she is bound to downfall at an unexpected time now let's read the poem she says even rocks crack I'm telling you and not on account of age the rock is cracking means it doesn't mean that the rock is aged but The Rock has the capacity Rock means a very strong Stone but even that can crack for years they lie on their backs in the Heat and the cold so many years it almost creates a illusion of calm the rocks will be in the same place for years and years and years facing the Heat and the cold and when we look at a rock we will think it is very calm just bearing with the Heat and the cold but it's not like that she says they don't move so the cracks stay hidden just because the Rocks don't move she says we not able to see the cracks they are all hidden and this hidden cracks are a kind of Pride which The Rock keeps it within himself years pass over them as they wait now the rock is waiting for something and years pass after years after years whoever is going to shatter them hasn't come yet and for what they waiting is someone is there to come and crack these rocks but that someone has not yet come and that is why this rock is appearing very calm and hiding the cracks on it and so the Moss flourishes the sea weed whips around the sea burst forth and rolls back and still they seem motionless and because the Rocks they do not move anywhere they stay calm without any movement the moss flourishes on them the seaweed grows around them and even the sea will come and dash on them and roll back but the rocks will not at all move they will be without any motion till a little seal comes to rub up a kind the Rocks comes and goes it will be there for years and years and years without any change without any movement but one seal will come just rub it rubs it body on the Rock and it'll go away and suddenly The Rock has an open wound and after the seal has gone after rubbing its body on The Rock The Rock will have a wound that is open crack I I told you when rocks crack it comes as a surprise now we'll be surprised because this rock has faced heat and cold it has faced climates Seasons even the sea coming and banging on it but now after a seal comes and rubs its body we are shocked to see the rock crack and it is a big surprise and the last line is all the moreo people in the way the same way there are many people who will not show any any feelings outside whatever they are suffering or whatever they feeling it will be only inside them because they hide it with their pride but one small incident or one small event or one person is enough to crack what is inside them and that will be the time when they really break and fall down and here in sub if you have anything more to add on to what I've said please write it in the comment box like the video share it
