A couple months ago, Jordan Peterson went on the Megan Kelly show, and the two got into a very interesting discussion about proper masculinity. Now, during one of his responses, Peterson went off on a tangent, and it literally described the movie Fight Club to a tea. Now, here's just a couple things that Peterson said in his rant. I warned people back in 2016 that if they kept making men weak that there would be a consequence of that because weak men do very terrible things. If you weaken men they will 100% they'll become nihilistic. They'll become hedonistic and they'll worship power. And it's very easy for weak men to assume that power is the defining characteristic of a respectable man, like a an actually masculine man. If you've been demoralized your entire life and you're not doing well in your career and you're very disoriented and you've had no role models at all, then someone who has all the trappings of surface success can look like just the medicine you need. We know that Jordan Peterson's belief is that masculine meaning should come from responsibility and not from pleasure or power. Now, Tyler Duran's a character who has avoided all responsibility. He's a homeless squatter. He doesn't want to get married, and he's avoiding life's responsibility under the guise of freedom. But here's the problem, guys. When men don't have that meaning and that responsibility, our response is going to be chaos and self-destruction. If you've ever gone on a guy's trip and left the wife and kid at home, I'll tell you what ensues. chaos and self-destruction. It's fun for a while, but it's not sustainable. But meaning via responsibility doesn't mean that you have to run off and get married and have kids. Your meaning can be achieved through business and entrepreneurship. It could be achieved through volunteering and giving back to your community instead of destroying it. There are so many great ways for us to find meaningful responsibility in this life. Now, Jordan Peterson dropped another Fight Club bomb on the podcast with Joe Rogan recently. He was talking about why young people are attracted to Andrew Tate. And listen to what he says. And I I know why they're attracted to Andrew Tate. They'd rather be Andrew Tate than an incel. And they're right. Right. It's best to give the devil his due. Like if you had to choose between being kind of flabby and unhealthy and resentful and in your basement looking at pornography and you're ineffectual and the future looks pretty damn gloomy and then you see Andrew Tate who's tough and hyper masculine in an almost manner that's almost a parody and apparently has women as at his dispos. proposal, you'd think, well, I'd much rather be him than me. That's the incorporation of the shadow from the union perspective. It's like, yeah, it's right. Now, this is kind of a good point because the narrator at the end of the day, if we go to the end of the movie, he says that he is grateful to Tyler because again, he'd rather be that than nothing. I'm grateful to you for everything that you've done for me, but this is too much. I don't want this. But of course, through his experience and through his exploration of masculinity via power, he comes to the correct realization that it is time to part ways. Now, anyways guys, I just thought this was a cool interview and something I wanted to share. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below and I will see you next time.
