how are you all doing alhamdulillah everyone everyone is good okay okay should we just jump right into it inshallah how are you doing alhamdulillah I'm good for asking okay yeah that's quite a while alhamdulillah brother I'm good mean okay let's start inshallah uh last time we stopped at uh specifically verse 11 I believe we explained verse 11 and we stopped there and uh we explained that the first few verses of Surah bakar is divided into like uh three different sections first section the five five verses are about the Believers then the next two verses about the uh disbelievers and then uh like around 13 verses or so uh about thef the Hypocrites uh so we were explaining these verses about the and we gave a little bit of a brief explanation uh explaining what the word means Etc so if you've not seen that part you should watch that part part because explanations is built up upon each other basically so uh okay yeah uh and where they are when they are told or when it's said to them do not cause corruption in the land they say that we are people who are doing righteousness we are reformers we're doing goodness we're spreading goodness among the people uh as you see you know we we described last time how the people of falsehood use these kind of terminologies because they have to mix uh the truth with the falsehood like Allah says in the Quran do not mix the truth with the falsehood because the people of hypocrisy they cannot come to you just with falsehood uh to preach falsehood to you because you're not going to take it what they do is they mix the truth with the falsehood and then they they tell you that we're doing good you know we are like uh like helping the people you know we're spreading awareness we're doing we're doing all of these like terminologies and then they use in which they manipulate and twist and change the meaning of uh and then you've got the lay and people who do not have the knowledge and then they think these people are actually doing good and they start following them then Allah [Music] says Allah is completely refuting their argument rather indeed they are the they are the ones who are causing corruption they do not perceive it they do not know it they do not feel it they they are unaware of it but in reality they are the people who are causing corruption they are the people who are causing Mischief on the land so we learn from this is that a lot of people can use certain terminology can use certain titles can claim certain things but the reality is not necessarily in accordance to what those people claim uh just like today you have people calling themselves everything under the the sun you have everyone uh calling himself a follower of the righteous predecessors of the sah and then you look at these people they have different beliefs and you look at these people they have different actions but all of them are are making the same claim so you can make a claim but not necessarily that the claim you are making or you're going to make is in accordance to to the reality and Allah here is the all knowing so he is the one who is refuting the claim the false accusation the lie that they are using we're saying that we are we're doing good you know we're spreading goodness among the people so Allah is refuting them and when they are told or when it is said to them uh believe like the people have believed or like the Believers have believed or like others other people have believed they say what they say should we believe like the now what does the word mean so when it is said to them believe like the Believers have believed they say should we believe like the the people who are and in in the Arabic language comes from the weakness of the intellect because uh the clothing that is called it means it's a weak clothing the fabric of the clothing is weak so here originally means someone who has a weak intellect weak mind someone who's stupid basically right and it also can be used for for ignorance like Allah says in the Quan uh those who uh killed their children uh out of ignorance sa so Allah uses the word saf here to mean ignorant so saf here can mean ignorant and also it means originally someone who has a weak mind so when it is said to these Hypocrites and those believe like the Believers believed in Allah what do they say they say do you want us to believe like the people who are weak-minded do you want us to believe like the people who are stupid do you want us to believe like the ignorant of the people and now this is a very important thing to think about now because when you see the people today who are Mis Mis like who are who completely disbelieve in Allah and do not want to follow the Revelation they always say these things they say look do you want us to be like those people who are backward like 1,400 years ago they've not been developed they do not know what is right or wrong like do you when you tell me the verse and theith do you just want me to believe you look at people of misguidance like for example the or their likes you bring them theith and the verses of the of the Quran you bring them the statements of the Prophet you bring them the sayings of the sah and then they end up saying to you what see to you what you're stupid you just don't understand this text actually this this this is meant uh to be understood this way and this is meant to be understood that way and then what they end up doing they end up twisting the scripture they end up changing the meaning of the verses and then they tell you're stupid are ignorant people they're just saying believe you know what like the you know some of the scholars they said like the the sahab were like very pure like simple people so they just believed that the Revelation you know what but we the are the people of intellect we are going to explain to the verses and the right way to understand them and the differences between the verses so this is what they say they say look these people are you weak-minded they just like had the Revelation from Allah and they just decided to follow it we're going to explain to you now what what the verse actually means you know we're going to tell you the truth so this is the case with the with the Hypocrites always when you go to them you say to them follow the Quran and Sunnah Allah said this they say no no no you're misusing the verse you're misunderstanding the verse Allah says like where the hijab you mentioned the verse no no no no this hijab was like you know at the time because the women were like this and that and the word hijab here does not mean hijab and like and then they start telling you're just ignorant you didn't study you know I'm an intellectual I've spent my years studying the history and obviously they know nothing but this is what they say they they will tell you you know these people are ignorant so don't tell us to follow what 1,400 years of people were following you come to the Hadi rejectors you tell them look there's a scholarship of 1,400 years of people who studied the religion who studied Islam who like who passed down this Revelation for us so we should be following the same thing that they were upon they say you no no no these people are ignorant they they misuse the religion they change the text this and that come to me you know I'm the knowledgeable person who's going to tell you how to the verses of the Quran right so Allah is saying what you say to those believe like the people have believed like the majority of the Believers have believed they say to you do you want us to believe like the ignorant of the people like the weak-minded do you want us to be like the fools the weak-minded do you want us to be like those who are ignorant you know and then Allah [Music] says Allah saying rather indeed they are the ones who are the Su the ones who are accusing the the people of knowledge the people of IM the people of of intellect they are accusing them of of ignorance accusing them of being weak-minded and and and stupid this is the reality their reality so they are making the accusation that completely fits the reality they are the ones who are ignorant they are the ones who are accusing other people of their own disease you know and that's why the Arabs they have this terminology they say that she threw her disease on me and then she escaped she ran away like she basically accused me of her own disease and then she left she threw the accusation of that thing which applies to her and then attributed to me instead of him of herself right and Subhan Allah you see that happening a lot and like if even if you watch the da specifically or you watch videos or like there's for example a video coming tomorrow that probably you'll see this happening you know you you give da to someone you agree with them on one thing they say they tell you look you are diverting from the point while they are the ones diverting from the point you know they tell you you're not answering the question while they are the ones answering the question you'll see this usually happening in debating a lot a lot of these different tactics you'll see certain people accusing others of the exact same thing that they're doing and why do they do that because if I first accuse you of that thing then you will end up being on the defensive and then you will not think of accusing me back so if I'm the one who's doing something wrong and instead of you giving you any time to accuse me I start accusing you of that thing then what is going to happen now you're going to have to be on the defensive trying to explain that that this is does not apply to you and you're actually not ignorant and this and that and then you completely forget that the fact that you are the one doing it you know so this is a tactic of the of the people of they accuse the people of goodness they accuse the people of of righteousness they accuse them of certain things because now you cannot accuse them back now you have to be on the defensive you have to try to clear your name while you didn't do anything wrong and they they will completely get away with the evil that they're doing with the fact that they are the ones who are doing that wrong thing you know so this is a very important tactic and you know I see it sometimes when I do counseling between like spouses for example you'll see one spouse for example that will be saying that uh this this other spouse does not take accountability you know for example let say a woman you would say my husband he never he never admits when he's wrong he never this and that when I'm listening to them when the guy spoke everything he said whenever she said something about him he said yeah you're right actually I need to fix this I so he was taking accountability the whole time and then you'll see the woman saying no no no no no you just attacking me you know you uh you never take accountability you never admit what you wrong when she's actually she is the one that is not admitting she's wrong but when she does that when she throws the accusation this is a tactic that people use sometimes they even use it subconsciously as I said they use it to divert the attention from themselves they use it so the other person can be on the defensive and they can stay clear now from the blame right so this this is a very like a known tactic that the people of misguidance use or the people of ignorance the people who are trying to divert the attention from themselves right and when they meet the Believers uh they say we believe now the question is like those when they meet the Believers what why do they say we believe why when they meet they meet the Believers they don't not admit that they don't uh believe it is because they're afraid of the Believers so it's a character a characteristic that you will see in the is whenever they are uh let's say confronted by the people of H by the people of Truth you will see them falling apart they do not have anything to say they do not know how to respond this and that when they're alone in their homes and behind their computers they would be making all the claims up day and night they would be like you know what making accusations lying the people calling them names doing all of these different things but whenever they're confronted with the people of H with the people of Truth you will see them acting like cats you know acting like scared cats like this completely agreeing to whatever whatever the other person says so if the other person says to them this is this is how it should be they'll say yeah yeah of course this is how it should be I've always believed in that you know and when they go home they will start now typing again on their keyboard lying and making accusations and completely denying and denouncing and going against everything that they agreed upon when they were standing in front of the Believers so the reason is when Allah says if they me those who believe they say who believe is because they're afraid of the Believers so they have to lie they have to fabricate they have to pretend in front of the Believers now when they return to the when they come back to and and their here can can refer to either the the humans or can refer to thean of the Jin right the demons it can refer to to either two because Allah obviously in the Quran uses that term for mankind and he uses it for the Jin as well so there is thean of mankind and then you have thean of Jin thean a demon that is created by Allah that is a complete different creation right as Allah says in the the can be from the from the and can be from can be from the human beings so who are those are those who tell you falsehood and then when you meet around them they teach you falsehood they always encourage you to do falsehood they tell you what you want to hear they don't tell you what the Quran and Sunnah says those are the lens right and then they're very well known they whisper in your mind right so whenever those people leave whenever they leave whenever they are alone whenever they are you know means to be completely in uh Solitude of everyone else to be alone to be with yourself right so when you come back and you are alone with your Shan either the friend alone of yourin then you say what you say to thatan I'm with you you know I'm with you man like what do you friend look I'm with you you're my friend I believe the same thing that you that you say uh I believe in the same thing that you believe in with the Shan is the same thing right so why is it then why is it then that they said uh uh why did they say why did they say we are with you when they met the Believers the reason is they are mocking they are trying to belittle they're trying to mock they're trying to uh humiliate and they're trying to do all of these specific uh ill attributes with the Believers so the reason when they are with the Believers is we said first because they're afraid secondly they say these things apparently because they they want to mock them so this is the the excuse that they give when they come back to their friends the like them they say no no no we're just smoking them we're we're you know we're making fun you know with these jokes or we're trolling them we're doing this we're doing that this is what they say right so these are the characteristics of the people of uh the people of misguidance the people of hypocrisy and this is characteristics of the kufar generally Allah says for example in the Quran those who are criminals those who are Mis misguidance causing Mischief in the land in the they were moing uh and laughing at the Believers when they walk near the Believers do you know they wi to each other and they pretend as if like you know what look at these idiots look at those stupid people and you know we encounter these things for example we are on the da table see people walking by laughing and whispering to each other and this and that we see these things we I experience this reality that the Quran is talking about almost like almost on a daily basis you can see it right when they return to their family they're happy they're everything there's no problems and if they see the Believers they see these these people are misguided right and then Allah says today the Believers are going to laugh at the disbelievers so yes they are in the Dy going to the Shan and then mocking and and trolling and like trying to do all of these attributes but on the day of judgment the last laugh is what matters the last laugh will be for the Believers who will be in Jenna who will laugh at those Hypocrites who will laugh at those far or be in the fire uh burning there when they were mocking them in the D now the end result is what matters what matters is not this duny that it's going to be 40 50 60 years it's irrelevant it's not you can laugh joke do whatever you want to do in this life you can persecute you can do whatever you want to do you can kill our brothers and sisters in Palestine mock them do this and that but this does not matter do you know why this this does not matter because what matters is the the Everlasting NeverEnding life whoever laughs in the Le in the ever uh lasting NeverEnding life is the winner not the one who laugh temporarily for a few minutes for few hours this person is not going to win the person who really wins is the one who's going to laugh in the end so they said H we are with you we are only uh mocking we are only humiliating we're only mocking we're only joking right then Allah says Allah Allah is the one who is mocking them in this case now now uh Subhan Allah you see that they want to mock believers they want to mock people who are simple to they want to Mo creation simple creation like them that Allah created and and the result ended in the Allah the creator of the heavens and the Earth the most high is the one who's mocking in it and now you see these translations you know these translations but Allah mocks them you see this is a a good translation but now here uh you'll see mustaf is saying Allah throw Allah throw back their MO Allah throw their MO back at them this is not a good translation it is a bad translation H and that's why I usually recommend when see people see me I recommend International because it's more correct Allah Mo them this is the literal translation right but he is like throw back their MO at them and all of these different types of orings you know okay because Allah there are certain attributes that we mentioned in the last uh time that we were explaining certain attributes that can be used uh attribut to to Allah Encounter of the other person trying to do it so that they are trying to mock the Believers or trying to mock Allah so in return Allah mocks them right so these uh attributes can be uh valid these attributes can uh apply uh to Allah only in a restrictive sense in that sense and if someone is doing it towards you right and that's why you'll probably see that must translated it in this way but like I do not like this type of translation you know but generally yes these attributes that Allah only apply to Allah in return encounter if someone else is doing it towards the Believers or doing it towards Allah but in in isolation this is not a name or a specific attribute that Allah is attributed with right so allahs Allah he gets angry Allah laughs all of these are attributes and they are attributes that are applicable literally in a way that befits the Majesty of Allah we do not change the meaning of these attributes we do not give different terms and different meanings to these attributes Allah uses them in the Quran and if he wanted to say something else he would not have said that he would have us he would have used a different word right so Allah mocks them and then he leaves them he prolongs them in in their in their transgression their misguidance so they wonderand blindly in this misguidance they wonder and move and and completely misguided within this that that they do with then this misguidance that they're trying to uh do to the Believers they are the ones in misguidance they are the ones who are being prolonged in this misguidance that they are in uh and then Allah says those are the ones those are the ones referring to the referring to those attributes that we just explained now can in the Arabic language can mean either bought or sold right can mean both depending on the context it can mean the the uh the uh opposite meanings depending on the context in this case here it is that they bought the dala or they sold the Huda with the dala both of the meanings are are accurate so so it's either that they sold guidance for misguidance or that they bought misguidance using guidance either way both of these meanings can be applicable and correct right so it's a form of trade that they are traded with they are they have traded misguidance by taking the misguidance and give it in the return of guidance right so this kind of trade this kind of uh Commerce the kind this kind of transaction that they made it was not a a beneficial transaction it was not a a a winning transaction it was not something that they benefited from it was not something that they uh uh like it was good for them the the the return of like you know when you do transactions you go you buy and sell in the end you're trying to make profit right this transaction that they have done is not profitable for them Allah says it not profitable uh transaction to do to sell guidance in in Return of misguidance right it was only that which will keep you in misguidance and only will give you punishment when you die on the day of judgment and they were not of the guided ones right because what they sold the guidance so they cannot be of those people of the guidance they are of the people of the misguidance now Allah here moves on after giving us these kind of attributes and descriptions of of the Allah goes on to give us an example right Allah goes on to give us an example of those right and Allah doesn't only give us one example of the but he gives us two examples that you will see right now and the scholars they said two examples so an example to do with fire and an example to do with water uh these two examples that we are about to explain and it is very important to keep in mind that these kind of examples Allah gives in the Quran the very important and they are directed to the people of uh of knowledge right they're directed to the people but they directed to everyone but the people of knowledge are the ones who understand Allah says in the and these examples we give to the people uh we put forward to the people only the the the people of knowledge are the ones who will understand it so we all as Muslims need to seek to try to be from the people of knowledge by understanding the examples of Allah puts forward we always need to pay attention Whenever there is an example in the Quran you try to understand try to understand what Allah is trying to say in this verse and if you don't understand these examples then you're not from the people of knowledge you cannot be from the people of knowledge because Allah says the only the people of knowledge will understand and do understand these uh verses right and that's why you'll see the salaf they used to say that if I read the the the example and I don't understand it I cry they cry why do they cry because they say I'm not from them I'm not from the people of knowledge I'm not from the ones that Allah has given the light of of understanding when they look at these examples right so Allah says here no their their example is like the person who here is he uh sought to uh light fire so he tried or he was seeking to start a fire he was trying to start a fire right so their example is the example of the person who's trying now to start a fire then when this fire has lit everything around him now when everything around him now is seen visually after the fire started now you see here Allah is use the very specific ter terminology Allah took away their light Allah took away the light and he left them he left them in darkness they do not see right so here Allah is saying their example is like the person who's trying to uh light a fire and then the minute that fire lights Allah took that what Allah didn't say took that the fire Allah said he took that light why did Allah use the term light and did not use the term fire because the fire has attributes right for example it has the smoke which can be harmful that you don't want to inhale it also has the burning heat and then it has the light and when Allah says it let everything around him that means that this is happening in the night so that person was trying to start a fire in the night in order for him to see right so this is happening in the night time so the fire has these attributes some of the attributes are are beneficial like for example the light that will help you see and the other attributes can be the heat the burning heat that can burn you or the uh smoke that can make more covering and you cannot even see around right so Allah says whenever uh this light now when this fire started making light Allah took the light away so so Allah took the beneficial part and he left the burning fire the burning attributes of the fire and Allah left the smoke so thatf that hypocrite that whenever he got the light the light of muham that light whenever the light of he accepted Islam or he said the testimony of Muhammed it lit everything around him right so the light of made everything let around him so now he sees where the danger is around him he sees where the benefits are Maybe is's trying to seek the root he sees the root the correct truth that he can take he sees the good things around him and he sees the evil things around him maybe there is a place where there is animals maybe there's there is like you know a hole here that he's trying to avoid so whenever this light has lit he's been able to recognize things around him this light of ill right so this light is there now what happened then when he disbelieved in when he completely rejected that statement of light that Allah has given him Allah took away that light so now when that when that light has been taken away that that person has become misguided wandering in the land does not know which way he should go he is afraid he goes this way and he ends up going the wrong route or he ends up falling or he ends up getting harmed by an animal or something that he cannot see so the minute they rejected muham Allah have taken that light away from them right Allah have taken the light of guidance of muham away from them just because they rejected it and he left for them what we said he left left the heat of the fire he left the dangers around them he left the smoke he left the things which can harm them and now they left in this Darkness the darkness of the night the darkness of the clouds that is around them they left in this Darkness they're they're not aware of where to go where not to go and this is the example of the MAF the minute you follow muham you have that light that guides you the light of the Quran explaining to you what you need to do explaining to you what you need to avoid telling you that which is beneficial in in your day-to-day life and in your and the minute you dis believe in Muhammed you return Into Darkness completely confused look at the people that today look at the atheist look at the agnostic look at these people they don't know what is right or wrong you know every day they have a new law of of they don't even know what the their gender there is a man or a woman they don't even know what what a woman should do in the society what a woman should not be doing in the society the light of guidance is not there it's been taken away from them due to their disbelief and due to the rejection of the light that Allah have sent to them and the call say that Allah said Allah is the one who took away their light and they didn't and Allah didn't say the light went away but Allah said that he is the one who took it away many of the scholars they said the reason that Allah said he is the one who took it away so no one can think that you know okay they're just now in in darkness but they have Allah with them so Allah can completely remove this idea of being with that Allah is not trying to guide him anymore so it's not like that they are in darkness now and Allah is with them no no no Allah is the one who took the light from them Allah is the one who put them in that Darkness so it's not like that Allah is with them like when Allah says for example you know there's a there's being with a protective being with like for example M he said they said that we're going to the round he said Allah is with me right so you can be in a place of danger you can be in darkness but Allah is with you the of Allah the is is with you the protection of Allah but Allah here used this term that he the one who took it away so no one can even think that Allah is with them or he's going to try to help them no no no Allah is the one who took it away due to them selling uh the guidance in in return from his guidance right and then Allah left them in the in in this Darkness he lift them in the darkness they do not see they're unable to see that which is around them they're are able to are able are unable to see the goodness around them then Allah affirms by saying deaf dumb and blind they will not return so deaf dumb and blind and they will not return so Allah is affirming that he just said that he left them in misguidance in darkness that they do not see Allah is affirming again that they are deaf and dumb and blind and they will not return to the H they're not going to return to Allah they're not going to return to the truth they're not going to return to the statement of which can give them the light in order for them to see that which happens around them and now the word uh bookm com comes from from the word abam and some the of the scholars they say abam means the person who who who's deaf sorry the person who's who's uh who cannot speak basically so Alam some of the scholars say it means the person who cannot speak and some of the scholars they say he it's not only that he cannot speak but he also does not understand so Alam is different from in the Arabic language some Scholars they make this differentiation they say alas is the person who cannot speak but the upcome is the person who cannot speak but also cannot understand so here Allah is saying that they're de and they cannot speak or understand and they are blind now uh they cannot speak meaning they cannot speak the truth they're deaf they cannot hear the truth and they're blind they cannot see the truth these are the things that are they're blinded and or the they cannot hear or they cannot see or they cannot follow it is the truth they're blinded they're not able to to follow the truth and Subhan Allah you know what the people watching probably understand this example very well some of the Christians you see or atheist or otherwise you give them arguments you give them evidences you give them the Quran and Sunnah you give them like clearcut like the Sun Signs and they say reject it you show them things which basically absolutely no one can reject but they still reject it you know because they're blind they're blind to what to the truth they're death they cannot hear the truth that Allah has given them they cannot cannot hear it it cannot enter their mind cannot enter their head cannot enter their blin and I'm sure you see it many of you see it and these examples Allah tells us in the Quran are for us to see this is a reality that we live in so whenever you saw this you see this individuals you understand the verses of Allah you understand why Allah told you these things you understand how perfect of of a description Allah gives to the people that walk around you nothing that you will see around you that you will encounter in your day-to-day life that Allah did not already explain or tell you about so when you see these people and I know some people say how comes these people don't understand how how comes these people do not see the truth how comes these people Allah told you that they are def they cannot hear the truth and they cannot speak the truth they cannot agree with the truth and they're blind even if you show them the signs from day and night and and all over the horizons they're not going to follow these things so when Allah says there are and dump and blind in fact that they have an ear right they have a mouth and they have eyes but Allah said uh Allah's given them these attributes because they're not benefiting of these things they're not benefiting of these sensors there's no point of having an eye if you're not using it to see the truth there's no point of having an ear if you're not listening and hearing the truth so uh these things become useless that's why Allah called them that's why Allah called them death dump and blind because they're not using this attributes so it's as if these attributes are not there it's as if they're not even possessing these attributes and we can learn from that that we might or may have certain attributes but we're not benefiting from them so Allah may give you money but you're not benefiting from from that money that Allah has given you that money can be a source of punishment for you because what you're doing is instead of uh like spending it in the way of Allah instead of thanking Allah with it and trying to to benefit the people with it you're using it in Haram you're using it in gambling using it for women using it for whatever reason you're trying to use right so you can have certain things or you can have certain attributes you know you can you can be very eloquent in speech Allah can give you the attribute of eloquencer people and you see many of these atheists they might have the intellect they might have the knowledge they might have the the eloquencer people they write books to to push people away from Allah they write books to tell the people there is no Creator so you can have attributes but those attributes you can use them in evil and if you use them in evil then it's as if you have you do not have this attributes that's why we don't say these people are smart we don't say these people are intelligent because they're not using these attributes in the right way they're not using it in and therefore it's as if they do not have these attributes right and you can also look at this this verse here that Allah is saying that uh this light that the person is trying to to do this this light of light of guidance you can look at it also as a so the the of the truth meaning the establishing the evidence so if someone come across the evidence if he follows the H if he follows the truth that can be light that guides his way but if that person uh rejects the H then that the fact that he encountered the H can be a burning fire that burns him away on the day of judgment so that light of the truth can either be a against you or can be something that is beneficial for you on the day of judgment so when you encounter the light or you try to get the light of the truth then it's either you would follow it that can be beneficial for you to guide you your way or it can be a against you on the day of judgment a burning fire that will that you will encounter until the day of judgment and NeverEnding burning fire due to your rejection of the truth now now Allah here is is given now a another example right so some of the scholars they said here it's like or or it's like Allah is giving you two examples basically and saying that these are two examples of the take whichever one you take so if you take the first example or the second example they both apply to thef and then some other Scholars they said no that thef are different types so there is a types of type of that is is between this and that like Allah says they're they're shaken in between not to completely towards this side or not completely towards this side so they're completely they don't not know you know they they're confused themselves they they not know whether they should be on on the side of the H or they can be on the side of of mgu the side of of of B they do not know which side they should take so they are shaking in between and then there is a who is pure maaf who completely knows the truth and and chooses to reject the truth some of the scholars they said that that these are two examples and and they are for different groups of maaf and different levels of theaf and some of the scor they say there are two examples they can be applied to all of them like basically you can take the one that you like from them Allah says and the in the Arabic language is that which is descending from above right is descending from the s that which descends from above and the is also used uh uh it's definitely used for rain because the rain descends from from above but the prophet uses also the term uh the Quran or guidance is also the term can also use for guidance or for the Quran or for for Revelation for guidance coming from Allah it's coming from up that term can also be used for it so in here it is something that descends from above something that comes from above right so here in in this case it is rain right so the rain is usually beneficial but not every rain is beneficial he mentioned this he said some rains rain can descend and be a rain of punishment that not necessarily all types of rain are beneficial rains that that that helps the SE the uh the seed grow and help the people in their farming and all of these things some of the rain can be can be uh uh detrimental right you can have all of these floods too much rain and you can have floods like causing discre uh destruction so the rain is not necessarily in all of the times can be beneficial for the people right so here like this rain that is descending from above is coming from the sky is coming from above in it there is Darkness thunder and lightning then Allah is saying that now the the the the disbelievers are in this state Allah has given you the the they are in this state now they are there and and it is the night right because there is and there is Darkness Allah is saying so it's night time the water is coming down and then there is lightning and there is thunder going right within this water that is coming down and they are there they put their fingers in their ears from the the the the sound of the Thunder you know they are AFE they are afraid of the Thunder they afraid of death Allah is encompassing all of the Affairs of this Believers right so now so this is the second example now that Allah is given this this this rain or that thing that can be descending from the S uh we said it can be uh the Quran it can be it can be guidance right so we say for example is descending down now is the Quran and now the the darkness that is there it is the verses that are M the verses that are ambiguous in meaning that can have more than one meaning or the are ambiguous that can have more than one meaning that are not completely clearcut so the Allah sent upon him that can be beneficial can be good and it can be bad depending how you take it so that Quran that is descending now upon thatf thatf uh he sees theat he sees the darkness in in in it coming down why does he see Darkness because he looks for the verses that are ambiguous and he tries to uh hit these verses one against each other tries to make them contradictory with one another rather than looking at the the clear-cut verses that Allah has revealed he focuses in the verses which are uh ambiguous in meaning or have more than one meaning this is the case of now the right so this now guidance is come from Allah the Quran that is come from Allah even though it is beneficial they are focusing on the parts that can misguide them they are focusing on the the layers of darkness in it right and then in is the that is within it is the verses that are uh warning verses the verses about the Hellfire the verses about the punishment and and these vers verses that are in the Quran it is for them it is like lightning for them why because now they're afraid why are they afraid like thunder and lightning for them it becomes why because these verses they are afraid that these verses are talking about them like Allah mentioned this this description on the Quran that they they're afraid they think that these verses now that are coming down the next verse is going to come down is going to expose us the next verse that Allah it's not like they're afraid of the punishment of the day of judgment no they're afraid from the Believers they're afraid that one of these verses will give the description we'll say the reality we we name them and then if this verse comes down now that they are afraid that they'll be punished they'll be exposed among the people that they are actually so they are afraid so even though the Quran is a source of guide in coming it is against it because now they're focusing on the darkness the verses that are M rather than focusing on the clear-cut verses in the Quran like Allah commanded them to do and because they are disbelieving in their heart they are afraid that this verses are going to mention them and the reality is going to be exposed for the people right and so this is the what the the darkness and and the Thunder that is coming down that that makes them afraid and also the bar so what is the bar the lightning that can gives you the light this bar is the verses of guidance where Allah guides the people tells the people to do righteousness Allah tells the people to go to towards the TR the path of good Allah Asel tells the people to do that which has goodness in them so they are blinded by these verses they are blinded by the verses of guidance they do not see the benefit in it they will not see the guidance with it the verses of the Quran that has guidance in it that gives you instructions they are blinded by and and for example I'll give you a few examples like if Allah in some of the verses of the Quran gives you a guidance to perform Haj then they say to you you know Haj is very expensive Haj is very difficult you know how can I travel from I don't have money to travel to do Haj like my mother is this like is very tiring how would you expect me to go from six seven hours in the plane and they mention all of the things that that can be uh difficult from their perspective in that command of guidance that Allah has given you and they completely IGN ignore the rewards this is the case of the maaf they ignore the reward that Allah has told them in the that you come back like your mother has given birth to you that your sins are forgiven all of these rewards that Allah mentions that can elevate your status in part they're completely blinded they do not see the guidance they do not see the reward they do not see the things they that they're supposed to see you say to them pray five times a day or don't drink or this or that he said you know five times a day man I cannot wake up it's too much this and that woo and going to the mosque and you want me to do all of that you know what this and that they look at the negative side This Is How They view the commands of guidance they're blinded by uh they cannot see the rewards they cannot see the guidance that Allah has mentioned to the Believers and the prayer that Allah has mentioned in the Believers in all of these examples that Allah has told them to the belief so this is the case of the maaf so if you ever see yourself whenever there is command from Allah Whenever there is guidance sent then you only focus on the parts that are uh might appear or might seem like they're difficult and hard and you do not look at the guidance then fear that you might have some of these like worldview of the MAF that instead of looking at the goodness the major goodness Allah has given you the amount of goodness Allah has given you the amount of reward Allah has given you in in telling you to that action you're looking at what is difficult from your perspective physically or mentally in doing or performing that task so this is the case of the maaf whenever he approaches the ver of Allah this is his his example right the the water the the Quran descending from the S to him there is darkness in it and these darkness of these verses that he's putting against each other the the he there's fear in it that he's fearing that these verses the punishment is going to expose him there is a a complete blindness to the light of guidance that's coming down from the Quran and this is the example Allah has given you in this verse the example of the and then says what Allah is surrounding those this Believers meaning he's surrounding them with knowledge he's surrounding them he is going to uh punish them as well he's surrounding them with punishment he's surrounding them with knowledge he knows everything they're doing he knows their Affairs and he is going to punish them because here can be also explained by punishing them or or like when Allah says uh right so here can it can mean punishment it can mean something bad it can mean some sort of of an evil outcome so here that Allah is preparing for them this evil uh like dis punishment Allah is preparing for them this punishment and Allah is aware of everything that they do right Allah encompasses them in knowledge and encompasses them in everything that they do and that which is they conceal in their hearts now this this uh uh lightning that is Within These verses it's almost is going to snatch their sight away it's going to make them blind it's going to make them completely blind they're not able to see and uh that's why the scholars they say that it's you should not look at the at the lightning because it can take your your uh your eyesight you should not be looking at the lightning when the lightning is going right so they're also almost going to Incline uh towards this this lightning the light of guidance right now every time it it lights for them they walk and whenever it becomes Darkness again they stop they stand they stand still right if Allah will he will take away their hearing he will take away their sight indeed Allah is capable or or has power over everything right so Allah is saying here this this light of guidance is almost going to take their eyes away but you see Subhan Allah Allah says every time that it lights for them they walk in it now I want you to imagine that you're trying to go to another destination and it is the night time right now and there is lightning and every time there is lightning you walk how long does the lightning stay literally two three seconds 4 seconds so you're only able to walk a distance of one or two seconds whenever that lightning starts to to light whenever you see the light you walk from for one or two seconds and now in the then when it's dark again you are now scared you're afraid you do not know what's going on around you you're completely lost you do not know which way to go and this is the case of the maaf so the case of the maaf this is his case you know little bit of light a little few seconds of light he walks for a little bit and then Darkness come back again he stops he does not know he's he's afraid he's in in a in a case of complete fear he does not know his position and he does not know where he should go this is the case of of thef right and uh uh you know how long is he going to walk how long is is he going to reach how many kilometers is is he going to walk if he only walks for a few seconds whenever it lights for them he's barely going to reach his destinations he's barely going to even come close to where he's supposed to go and this is the case of the maaf he does not reach what he wants to do he thinks he's heading towards the destination where he needs to go but in reality he's not he's never going to reach that destination he's not going to reach the the thing that he's trying to do and he's going to remain in that case of fear and guidance and completely unaware of that which happens around him H and uh this is the case of the we said that this light the is the light of the versus of guidance of Allah right now the thing is every time it lights for them this is referring now to the verses that they like you know so the is what every time he hears a verse that that he likes he says yeah I'm going to follow that this is the case of the so that little bit of walking that he does is the verses of uh that he hears in the Quran that fits his narrative he likes it he follows it are the verses that he doesn't like then he stops he's no longer following these verses he's no longer following the command of Allah whenever he hears something that he doesn't like and that's why Allah says and whenever they're called to Allah and the messenger to judge between them they completely they turn away so when they hear the verses that they don't like they turn away that if if they have any like right if they have anything that is for their sake if they have anything that is Ben benefiting them they come straight away they're hurrying now to find that which benefits them to find that which fits their narrative and this is the case of the maic he picks and chooses he takes that thing that he likes and then he completely avoids that which he doesn't like but in the end his light is going to is going to be taken away by Allah and what is that light we mentioned before in the past class that this light is the light in the day of judgment that the will be given to walk and then that light will be taken away from them uh on the day of judgment so Allah will take that light away from them so in the D here you might think that you're heading towards the right destination by picking and choosing the verses that you like but you're not moving you're not going anywhere you're not coming anywhere close your destination by picking and choosing and in the end you will die and the light will be taken away from you and you will end up in dark in the darkness of Hellfire Allah says Allah will he will take they're hearing and he he will take their sight so meaning Allah is saying if he wanted to take the life of those hypocrite Hypocrites if Allah wanted to take the life of this Hypocrites if Allah wanted to punish them uh straight away Allah would do it Allah is capable over everything has power over everything but Allah is punishing them in the state to be in the state in the D and in the to be in the state of the D of misguidance of not knowing where you should go of being in complete ignorance and misguidance in thinking that you're going towards the right direction by by this little bit of light this few meters that you walk you think that you're going towards the correct direction but you will remain in that state Allah is going to leave you in that state rather than taking you away now he's going to leave you in that state until you die and the light is taken away from you on the day of judgment and we stop here inshallah uh until the next class uh okay anything I say can be used for the people like for example Allah says in the Quran chapter 2 Allah has sent to you as a Malik as a king so the term King there is like ruling over a group of people is used in the Quran multitude of different places right even the term aiz is also the same as the King right so Allah uses that term uh for for the creation so it's allowed you can use that King uh sorry you can use that term king or or otherwise to the creation but not in the ultimate sense of being the King of Everything or the king of the day of judgment or these things they are these things are specific to Allah what do you think of people Rec the Quran with a I do not know what that is uh Quran was not revealed in order in order during Revelation how the order was sent afterwards by the prophet yes the prophet wasam is the one who arranged the verses so in the last uh Revelation which Revelation us used to always happen in Ramadan so the last Revelation jel came to the prophet twice instead of once he used to come to him once in the year but he came to him twice and in that last Revelation jiel told him the order of the verses where the verses are going to be so it is through Revelation the order of the verses is through Revelation yes the verses and chapters is through Revelation what is the best way to increase your knowledge in Europe uh it is what we're doing is to understand the Quran through Reading and or understanding the verses of Allah and if you finish understanding the Quran properly your knowledge will completely change you you'll be a completely different person when Allah doesn't need to address whether he exists or not because like this is a reality it's like it's like me trying to argue with someone whether the sun exists or not so the absurdity of me trying to prove to you the sun exist it would be a similar absurdity if Allah is trying to like approve to you somehow that he exists and this you know deep down that he exists this is the Islamic position is that the people have the F and the F recognizes that Allah is there and the creation around you is enough of an Evidence of his of his existence so Allah doesn't need to uh like try to prove to you that he exists you know because deep down he knows that you know he exists and the F tells you that he exists why would he try to prove it to you so when you know something like you know the sun is above you and and it it has light there's no point be of me trying to argue with you whether the sun exists or not can you make a past lives available I will no I can't uh translation from a Sufi
