Meet the world's strangest primate. It has one finger so long and thin, it looks just like a twig. Don't let its eerie appearance scare you. The aye-aye lemur is the only primate that uses echolocation, much like a bat, to find its food. That incredibly thin and long middle finger exists for a reason. The aye-aye taps on tree trunks to listen for the vibrations of larvae hidden inside. Once it detects a meal, it uses its sharp teeth to chew a hole in the wood and slides that twig-like finger in to hook the prey out. In Madagascar, this animal is often seen as a symbol of bad luck, but in reality, they are genius insect hunters and incredibly rare.
