New at 6, three Cooper City teens honored for jumping into action during a medical emergency. >> And tonight they're being recognized for their quick thinking that helped save a man's life. And Local 10's Aaron Maybin is live now with it all for us. Aaron. Hey there Calvin and Nicole. You know, I feel like everyone's feeling a bit uplifted here in Cooper City right out of City Hall right now. Just a few minutes ago three teenagers received a standing ovation. Hundreds of people clapping for their heroic efforts. Not only were they honored today, but they also had a moment to reunite with the man that they saved. And their quick thinking was captured on camera. Sir. You okay? One of our rescues here to check you out, okay? You have chest hurt? First responders arriving to a medical emergency call along Flamingo Road near Sterling Road. >> We'll grab the stretcher. We'll take you over to the hospital, okay? Body camera video shows the side of the road save April 19th after three Cooper City teenagers noticed a man in distress including heavy breathing and profuse sweating and called 911. There was an old man on Flamingo. There was an old guy on the side of the road. We were helping change his tire and he did not feel good at all. It all began when Logan Royer, Brody Murray, and Cody McGrone say they were inside of McDonald's when they noticed a driver having trouble changing his flat tire. The teens went to help and noticed he was going through something far worse. >> We're at McDonald's and we saw this guy over here. He was just flat out here. Officials say the man was later confirmed to be experiencing a heart attack. Doctors say their quick thinking saved a life. Tuesday afternoon the trio honored for their bravery. Saving someone's life and being there obviously is a big thing for especially kids my age. So, it was just a lot of emotions honestly. We saw him on the side of the road and we were like, let's go help him. It feels good. I feel like I did something good. I did something right helping out a guy and I just am happy to be honored. Yeah, I think we're all feeling a bit honored tonight just to meet those 16-and-17-year-olds who jumped into action. The man they saved is named Diego Fernandez Delgado. He said on that day his phone wasn't working. So, when he started to go through this medical emergency, he says he started to pray and three angels arrived. We're live tonight in Cooper City. Aaron Maybin, Local 10 News.
