hey everybody it's Tyler and we are back we're going to review the Hoka Kaa twos versus the Hoka Anacapa twos these are two super popular hiking boots especially in 2024 if you would like to see the individual reviews for these boots I've done them both already you can see in our hiking boot review playlist so go check those out if you'd like so starting off overall the Hoka kaha 2 is $50 more than the Anacapa 2 currently they're $240 on hoka.com the Hoka an aapa twos are $190 on hoka.com so pretty St price difference here so we're going to go over the comfort of both these boots first so overall both These Boots are super super comfortable they both have an Eva midsole which has extreme plushness and they're very forgiving in the first place they're also excellent at shock absorption for both of these boots and they have the contoured heel as you can see right here I'd say one big difference between the two if we could compare them right here is the kaha 2 in my left hand they have more of a plushness to their contoured heel here and it's more forgiving as well with just a little bit more protection layer right there so I'd say the difference between these two in terms of comfort is the sock liner this is the kaha 2 as you can see in here it definitely has more plushness and you don't feel like any of the metal rungs are really pressing against you do notice that in the Anacapa to so that has one big difference there so overall they are super comfortable but the winner for comfort is the kaha 2 now we're going to compare the traction these both do have a Vibram meag grip sole I tested both these hiking boots in pretty harsh conditions for over 6 months each and overall the traction is excellent on them the Vibra Mega grip Soul overall is just such a great outsole it's not even it's not just used on Hoka hiking boots it's used on a lot of hiking boots like the Maroa three and there's a lot more that use the fiber Mega grip outsole but I would say the big difference is that the lugs on the Anacapa 2 in my right hand are slightly deeper they're more than 5 mm which is the interesting standard the kaha 2 if you can see have these little beads right next to their lugs you can see the little out brakes there which is interesting um I don't I honestly didn't notice a difference in the traction overall the traction is excellent on both These Boots as well as the shock absor abortion so I can't say I noticed a huge difference but overall the traction on both These Boots A++ overall Protection One big difference between these boots is the medial and lateral side protection on them as you can see on the Anacapa 2o it's missing this protection here when I did my solo review for the Anacapa I was a little worried about any sharp rocks or objects really piercing through here or it's supposed to be very breathable but obviously you put yourself at risk for um not being protected in the area if it's super breathable and thin whereas the kaha 2 as you can see it from the from the toe box here it has the toe cap and then it also has some leather mesh material right here and it's super hard you're not going to pierce anything there if you look at the heel lift on this boot of the out sole see how high it is compared to the Anacapa 2 it's a lot higher so you put yourself at less risk of anything piercing here because you add almost you know an inch or two to your height honestly with these boots you know that Hoka design where they have such a big outsole but even above the outsole you can see there's this rubber right here which really puts you at Great protection so I had no issues with anything sharp or anything really piercing into these boots super super well equipped and robust the kahat toos so overall for protection the kaha 2 is the winner right now fit these boots both fit very well for me I have a 10 and 1 half men's did not have to use a wide size for either they both have great volume I did have some numbness in my third toe with the Anacapa but that went away after breaking them in as well so zero issues with fit and that's another tie we have for a category what's really going to separate These Boots apart I'm going to tell you right now the an aappa 2 are way more breathable than the kaha 2 so if you're looking for a boot to use in the summer this is the one so the Anacapa tube does have a gortex membrane as you can see on here so does the kaha tube however it has these air mesh pockets as you can see all around the boot super breathable never had any sort of sweaty feet or anything like that with the Anacapa twos they also have a breeze version which is not waterproof which is even more breathable so if you are someone who's looking in terms of breathability this is the winner right here the haha to as you see it has more protection but now you have less breathability with more protection there's more new boach leather covering this boot and you can definitely use these in the summer no issue whatsoever but just know that you're going to have less breathability with the kaha twos durability I've used both These Boots over close to a year now the inapa 2 less than a year but I've had zero issues with breakdown on the Anacapa 2 like I said in my individual review the issue I did have is right here here right before the sock liner starts there may be some ripping people may notice cuz it's very thin material here but I personally have not noticed any of that the kaha 2 zero issues zero breakdown I mean these almost look like they're brand new still I've had them for over a year now which is crazy so 10 out of 10 durability for both that's a tie so which boot is better before I get to that obviously these are both great hiking boots we rated these as the top hiking boots of 2024 and the most comfortable hiking boots in 2024 so overall ratings we rated the kaha 2 a 9.5 and an Anacapa 2 9.1 that's just because the kaha 2 has more comfort as well as some better overall protection but like I said if you want more breathability the Anacapa 2 is where it really shines so for someone who's a regular hiker just going on weekend hikes the Anacapa 2 will absolutely get it done especially if you want to save money you know 50 less it's totally worth it for that if you are someone who wants a more robust hiking boot and you really care about comfort as well as protection you don't want to have to worry about anything piercing your boot or anything like that then you can go with the kaha too like I said overall Hoka has made amazing hiking boots which is crazy because they do so well making regular shoes and other Footwear as well so I was super surprised by these two hiking boots there the top hiking boots in 2024 thanks for watching Everybody if you'd like to
