S and we stopped there and Allah has divided these first few verses as the scholars have said first few verses of Surah Bak uh into three categories right the first five verses these first few verses were talking about the Believers the first five verses in were directed towards the Believers and they were talking about the Believers then Allah mentioned two verses uh that we already explained that were to do with the so Allah so then two verses directed towards the kuf that this Believers people who don't accept the faith completely so first is the Believers then the disbelievers then uh around 13 verses uh afterwards which is we will be explaining some of it today inshallah are directed towards thef the Hypocrites uh so first it was the Believers then Allah spoke about thef sorry first it was the Believers then Allah spoke about the disbelievers then Allah spoke about the and you can see the contrast as well 13 verses specifically Direct towards the while only two verses were directed towards the and because the reality is the are they have a much bigger danger they are a much bigger danger towards the muslimun than uh any other group so the other groups are not as uh as problematic as the so their danger is much more than the other six and the other groups and we will go into explaining inel why and what is the reason who are the right so Allah says from the people who says they say we believe in Allah and we believe in the last day but they are not Believers or rather they are not Believers or yet they are not Believers right or when they are not really Believers so Allah is saying that they are making a claim making a testimony that they are believers that they believe in Allah they say outwardly we say we believe in Allah and we believe in the last day while in reality they're not Believers so what does means what does the word mean or before that let me actually say something else one of the reasons I recommend usually for Jews or Christians or other groups of people to read the Quran from the beginning is is you can see this this format that Allah uses because in reality the beginning ofah Bak or the beginning of the Quran deals with all of the groups of people so whether you are like a complete disbeliever someone who doesn't believe in religion doesn't believe in God or you are aaf a hypocrite someone who is like who shows a side to the people where in reality you hide another side or you are someone who's a Believer the the Quran to read it from the beginning from Surah bakar is very beneficial because the first few verses deal with all types of people all types of individuals right and also because if when you're reading you'll see that the Quran uh speaks about for example uh the beginning of creation and the beginning of Bak then it speaks about Adam and it speaks about ha and all of these things then it goes to speaking to about M and uh his people and bani is so it deals with all the groups of people so it is always good uh I believe for someone to read from the Quran from the first chapters you because some people you see them recommending other chapters but I tend to uh incline towards recommending the beginning of the Quran to read from the beginning from the start because there's like a lot of benefits there and thef or the Hypocrites they were not a present in uh they were not present in in Mecca they were not present in Mecca and why is why is the reason they did not exist in Mecca because uh the Believers were weak and the people of the Prophet Alam they're being persecuted in Mecca for 13 years so there is no reason for someone to pretend that he is a Believer uh while he actually is hiding this belief in his heart no that that that has no use right so they they were uh because look the people who were Believers were being punished so why would you pretend to be a believer and people will start persecuting you and punishing you and attacking you so there would be no use for anyone to pretend that he is a Believer when he's not a Believer so the the Hypocrites did not exist in in Mecca so you'll see the verses that were the m that were revealed in Mecca were not dealing or directed towards or speaking to the rather it was clear cut and and direct towards the Believers or the disbelievers while when the prop Prophet wasam went to Medina and specifically after the battle of Badr uh when the Believers defeated the the kufar and then the Believers started having some strength in in Medina then you have people now who started to uh hide their belief right but they didn't exist in meca they started existing in Medina and that's why Allah you see Allah saying in the Quran if the Hypocrites and those who have hearts their disease then Allah says who are in the Medina so Allah uses here when he speaks about the specifically is referring to Medina and also when Allah says in and and from those around you from the those who are living in the outskirts of Medina they are and from the people of Medina so you will see the the if you like trace the verses of the Quran you'll see the were existing in Medina they were not existing in in the other parts and what is what is what does the word means in the Arabic language who are the so linguistically the word comes from the word is is an animal that is called in the Arabic I don't think there is like an easy way to describe it in the English I think it's not that popular the name of it is not that popular in the English but what the animal does is it it it makes multiple holes in to hide in in the Earth right so it goes in the earth and then it creates multiple holes holes one hole that it enters from and then other holes uh to run away so if anyone attacks that animal from any direction from one hole it will go to the other one to to escape to run away if you attack from the other hole it will go from to a different hole to try to escape right so uh it is a perfect description for thef for the Hypocrites who if you face them with something they will light you and they will tell you something else and you if you're going to go into another Direction when You Face them with another problem then they will lie and go from another direction right so linguistically it is this animal comes from this word which is which is an animal that digs different holes right in the earth to hide and and to run away to escape whenever it's confronted right and uh in Islam is two types now from an Islamic perspective there's two types of NF there is the major which is to show uh belief and to hide disbelief So within your heart you're a disbeliever you don't believe in the Creator you don't believe in Allah you don't believe in the Tendencies of Islam that Allah is revealed you don't TR truly believe in the Quran or the prophet but you're showing to the people as if you believe so when people approach you you pretend to be a believer you pray within with the Muslims it's time to fight you fight with the Muslims you do everything you pay your zaka and all of these different things but in reality in your heart you don't believe in any of these things you just believe in the Quran you just believe in the prophet so this is now the major now this is a problematic one that you cannot have lame Muslims calling each other which is essentially calling people disbelievers because as you see today anyone goes to anyone and says this guyy is aaf and they use the term like this Loosely as if that term is like you know what it doesn't matter Allah do not hold me accountable look whatever you say Allah says in the Quran No statement there is no statement that will come out of your mouth except that there is someone writing every specific detail of whatever you say so do not think that you can go around throwing these titles and accusations and calling this guy maaf this guy this this guy that and you think that you're going to get away with it you might be anonymous online under behind the keyboard on your computer but you're not Anonymous to Allah so I I would advise the people not to throw this term because we were just telling you now what is it is to completely hide this belief in your heart this major nef is to hide this belief in your heart and to show belief and if when you're calling someone MF that's essentially what you're saying you're calling him a cafir you're saying not only he's a cafir but this is the worst type they are worse than a CF why because Allah says in the Quran the will be in the lowest depth of Hellfire theaf is going to be in the lowest depth of Hellfire so when you call someone else a Muslim a maaf you're not just calling him a cafir you're calling him worse than a cafir you're saying that essentially that person is going to be in the lowest depth of Hellfire by these statements that you're throwing like this and we all know the prophet he said that who says to his brother you are a cafir then one of them is is going to be the cafir in this idea that the punishment of the statement is going to be upon one of them either you if you make the statement falsely or the other individual if he's actually a CAF but in reality you cannot go around throwing these terms right so he said there is two types of one that is Major which is to show belief and to hide uh disbelief in your heart and the second type is is of belief and then of actions so what is the of actions that you do certain things that the prophet Alam has described in theith so the prophet described in theith these type of things of which if you do they are actions of so is of actions what are these attributes uh that the prophet Alam mentioned the prophet Alam said so four attributes that if they exist in someone he he is a pure right and if he had just one attribute uh of these attributes then he has an attribute of until he leaves the attribute so you'll be a believer but with a with a with the attribute of and if you have those four attributes then you are a pure maaf MF of Deeds you are a pure maaf if you have these four things things right then the prophet he went to explaining right he said if he's given an if he's given a trust he breaks that trust so if you let's say for example you you give to someone a car or you give to someone like a house or you give to someone anything and you say brother look I'm traveling I'm going I'm going I'm going here or there so please take care of my house you give him the am or you give him money let's say you give him 10,000 you say brother look I'm traveling please I do not know where to keep this money safely so keep this with you you come back from the travel and then you ask him brother can I have my money back he tells you which what what money who are you I don't know who you are do you didn't give me anything what is the evidence that you give me something I didn't take anything from you so if you entrust that person with something he will break that trust right and this this happens most of the time usually when it's a long period of time you give someone an AM something to take care of for a long period of time two years 3 years four years then eventually the individ individual starts either abusing it like for example example you give him a car he start using the car without telling you so he's abusing your he's breaking your trust because you didn't give him the car to use you give him the car to take care of it uh so when it is a longer period of time you see people doing that so this is the first attribute of of the you give him a trust or and then he breaks the trust the second thing is and I want you to watch this because there's a lot of people social media who fed these attributes that we're describing right now right so an can be something simple like you have a DM uh a voice note that you sent to another brother and he said keep this between me and you this is an AM and then he goes on social media he spreads the am between the people this is breaking the am this is breaking the trust and then the second attribute now is if he speaks he lies if he speaks he lies you ask him about something he lies to you he fabricates things information about other people he fabricates anything uh you ask him do you have evidence for this he says yes do you ask him did you truly did this he he says yes look he cheats on his wife and when his wife ask him he lies uh he he curses people behind their back and when they ask are you speaking about me he says no I'm not speaking about you I'm speaking about something else right so this attribute of of if when you speak you lie this is the attribute of it's the second attribute and if you have this as a Believer you have an attribute of and the prophet lying is a major sin and the prophet wasam he said that the person lies and he continues to to Li until until he written with Allah a liar this has become his title now a liar right and even lying with joking now coming to this idea that you have people today all of these memes all of these ridiculous things they go they don't only lie in in the jokes but they even mock the religion they they they make jokes and lies to do with the religion which can t which can be a kuf disbelief complete disbelief that you joke about Islam and you joke about the Quran and joke about the Sunnah and you joke about these different things so you have to be very careful uh not to lie the prophet he said W be to the man he lies to make the people laugh W be to him W be to him so you cannot be lying to make other people laugh right you can say a joke that is truthful when the sah described the prophet or when the prophet said he jokes he says I joke but only nothing comes out of this mouth except the truth Prophet when he joked he joked but it was true so you can say something which is true and you joke with that thing right so the first attribute we said if you have a trust you break your trust the second attribute is your lie is when you speak your lie and the third attribute to if you have a treaty with an individual or you agree on an agreement you give a you give a promise you break your promise so you say to your friend your brother this and that you know look this reminds me of someone I know like you say to to someone you know what I'm going to uh buy you a car you know what or when you get married I'm going to buy you a car and then the person gets married and then you say to him sorry I don't have any money I cannot do this or you promise someone okay I'm I'm going to uh uh provide for for your your children I'm going when you die and then when that person dies you break your promise whatever promise you make as a Believer if you break that promise or whatever treaty that you make with another individual let's say that we have a country or an individual that makes a treaty that I'm not going to attack you I'm not going to harm you there's peace between us and you now and you go and you break that treaty this is the attribute of so whether it's a promise or whether it's a treaty or whether it's an agreement between and someone else uh and a promise that you give to someone else that you're going to fulfill and you break this is the attribute of is the attribute of hypocrisy that you need to get rid of as a Muslim so the more attributes you get until you get these four attributes you will become a you'll become a Pure hypocrite and no none of us want to be to do that and then this last attribute which we see like completely displayed even today on in front of our own eyes you see people on social media people who are quote unquote call themselves Dua you see people on social media who are uh well known have a following and when they have a dispute another with one another you see this attribute in them Prophet if he has a dispute a disagreement a problem with another individual fer he goes into extreme because of that dispute or disagreement he has with another person so for example now you see people who would hate other Muslims or have a problem with other Muslims who have a a disagreement with another Muslims what they what do they do they go into extreme they start lying about them they start calling them names giving them titles uh calling them like agents calling them this calling them this calling them that calling them kufar calling them Zionist you see all of these names that we hear today all of these terms that you see today that you hear on a day-to-day basis when just because you disagree with someone else you go into extreme in your disagreement with someone else you start doing what is now the criteria for you going to extreme or not is whether what you're doing is in accordance to the Quran orah or not so calling people names is not according to the Quran andah that's clearly in the Quran Allah prohibited this if you start doing this that means now you're going you have a of now just because you have a disagreement with another believer you start now breaking the teachings of Islam and using that as an excuse saying oh no no it's okay he's evil so I'm going to do it no that's not an excuse you see another Muslim something bad happens to him so you start saying oh you know what no he actually that that's not true I'm happy this happened to him it's good that this person was attacked or it's good that this person was harmed or he dies you say it's good that this person dies now this is going to extreme in your disagreement with someone else and this is an attribute of so if you were to see these four attributes or to see one of these attributes displayed in an individual to today they know that that person has either an attribute or some attributes of or if he has all of these attributes he he is a when it comes to the Deeds to the we said there's two types when it comes to he is a pure there he does all of these attributes that the prophet he said pure who has these four attributes and if you have one of them then you have one of the attributes of so you have to be very careful and look you know when you hear this Hadith as a Muslim I want you to to realize that look this is not just statement and speech you know you will see you when you hear this information I'm telling you you will see it with your own eyes today you'll see it among the people this is the speech of the messenger Sall alhi is a revelation from Allah is guidance for us as mankind so this is not just things I'm telling you about you will see today will be able to determine who hasf in in in his actions who does notf in his actions based on this Hadith because it is clear and apparent when you look at different individuals and how they deal with each other okay so we said these there's these two types of now a question I have for you uh because we said the were were in Medina but they were not in mea were these and the Hypocrites known to the prophet or not who knows were the and the Hypocrites known to the messenger Sall alaihi wasallam or they were not known to the messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam who can tell us yes or no yes yes okay so they were known yes yes true yes them but we know them but Allah revealed then the names of the to the prophet and there was a list of the that was one of the with one of the companions of the Prophet which companion it was the companion of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam who was called The Secret of the prophet of Allah Sall alaih wasallam had the list and within this list there was the names of the it was the names of who were showing the major NF now now we're not talking about thef of actions now we're talking about the major which is to hide this belief and to show belief that's why a lot of people need to understand when Abu Bakr when he came to and he said to that I in the he was not referring there to the of of or he was asking he was not referring to the major because in his heart he believes he knows that he believes so he's not referring to I might be a disbeliever in my heart no because he knows that he's a believer in his heart that he believes in Allah and his messenger and there's many who followed him now since the prophet had the names of these my question is now why did the prophet not punish those why were they left alive and they were not uh killed or punished what is the reason the were left because this is to do as well uh with with the the the punishment for for apostasy right it is linked can be linked to the punishment of apostasy and why those people will not then the prophet he said I do not want the people to say that Prophet Muhammad was killing was killing His companion because this is the image now that the people will see that the prophet is killing his people because outwardly they're showing belief so to the masses it would be like the prophet is killing his companions so that is one of the reasons one of the wisdoms why the the prophet wasam uh did not go about killing those also another reason is because we judge the people with their apparent we judge the people with their apparent so even if you say that you all you can do is to judge someone with his apparent therefore if there is someone who is a disbeliever maaf within a Muslim land within a Shar State and he's showing his he's a Believer you cannot attack him you cannot do anything to him you cannot punish him because that individual it is he is showing you outwardly that he's a Believer and you can only judge with that that is outwardly that's why those people used to pray with the prophet they used to come out fighting with the prophet Alam in the war and Allah says in the Quan if they come out with you then they will increase you in in humiliation right but if they used to come out to fight as well because now they have to hide the Believers can sit home they have to come out but they come out and they cause fitna among the Believers who are coming out to fight they make them afraid they try to because corruption within them so it is because Prophet did not want anyone to say that he was killing his companions the second thing is that we judge the people with their apparent and apparently they are showing and pretending as if they're Believers therefore we cannot claim that we know that that which goes on in their hearts can only judge the people with their apparent right so uh and also few other reasons like for example uh to remove the harm or to perhaps hope that might one day they might come back to the H or come back to the truth and leave the and come back to Islam and not to cause FNA by killing them now and and then the others now rebelling and then coming out now as kufar and then Bloodshed and all of that so there was like some wisdoms that we can see some of them are based on theith like I mentioned to you the prophet did not want to say anyone is killing His companion and some of them are based on rules Islamic rules that the the scholars have derived now so we said uh from the people so from those like who will say we believe in Allah now this verse here is a is a response to a deviated sect a deviated group that I believe is widespread among the people today so it it's important to kind of note to this Allah here is saying what he is saying from the people who say we believe in Allah and the last day and then Allah says they are not but but they are not beli belies rather they are not Believers the truth is that they are not Believers right so Allah has uh decare the truth about them even though that they pretend to be Believers so now this is a reputation for for a Dev sect that called themselves a and those what do they say and they're widespread among the Muslims unfortunately or their ideology let's say is widespread among the Muslims this ideology is to say that it is enough for me for someone to say muhammah to be a Muslim for someone to enter paradise and and be fine and nothing happens to him is enough for him to say muham the deeds and the actions that he does are not important so the they say that the Deeds are not a part of IM the Deeds are not a part of the faith the faith is just to say Muhammed so those are the and this verse here is a direct reputation to them why is it a direct representation to them because Allah is saying that they say so they they make the statement that you want the people to say you say the is just to say the statement they are saying the statement but Allah have denied their statement and exposed their statement and said no they're not Believers so it is not enough for someone to say I'm a Believer for him to be a believer but also actions and that which they have in their heart they also have to align so the statement with the tongue is not enough for someone to say Muhammed no that's not enough the actions are also have to be a part of the IM and the belief in the heart so these three things have to be coming together in order for someone to be be a believer and there is obviously like any verse in the Quran that says is a refutation for those because it it mentions the belief and mentions the actions with the belief right and there are many many verses in the Quran every Hadith that that mentions like the actions are are part of the faith like the Hadith of of that the Iman is 60 something or 70 something branches right and they mentions removing the harm from the road as a part of e and the it's it's a part of Iman right and the verses of the Quran for example clear verses of the Quran uh like says the True Believers are those they hear the verses of Allah their heart trembles right and it increases them faith and they rely on Allah then Allah says Those Who establish the prayer and they spend from that which we we have given them and all of these are actions then Allah says then the those are the True Believers so Allah included like the Salah included given the given Z and giv charity and S all of that as a part of IM to make someone a True Believer right so all of these things are like a refutation to all of those who try to pretend that the actions are not a part of IM and why do I say these things are spread within the Muslims today because you have many Muslims today you say to them pray you say to them we the hijab you say to them do this you say to them do that what do they say to you my heart is pure you know what my heart is clear is white is pure I don't need to do anything what matters is my heart my intention what matter is that my heart is clean don't come to me saying to me you're doing Haram stop drinking stop eating pork stop and you start saying to them where the hijab they start telling you oh you see this hijabis they wear the hijab and and they go do Haram and you see them drinking alcohol you see them in the Disco you see to them pray they say to you the pray the people who pray are actually they steal and they rape and they this is the response so whenever you say to them like to do the actions and whenever you try to teach them about the teachings of Islam they pretend as if it's all to do with the heart and the truth is your heart is dark uh darker than than than black this is the truth and why is the evidence for that the prophet wasam he said that when someone commits an evil action there's a black thought in his heart until it becomes pure black and if someone does a Hass a good deed then there's a white doter in his heart till his heart becomes white like the milk so when when you're doing all of these sins you cannot pretend that my heart is pure and it is the intention that is irrelevant uh because the the actions are very important that's why the the prophet he said prophet he said that Allah does not look at your images and your pictures he looks at your heart now this is the part they like and your Deeds now they forget the second part you know so Allah yes Allah looks at your heart and then he looks at your Deeds as well so if your Deeds are in Alliance your heart would be pure if your Deeds are not in Alliance your heart would be black so don't come to the people when they advise you and they tell you about Allah they tell you to do God you start saying oh but uh but you know what but the people do this but the people do that but my heart is pure your heart your heart is not pure if you're not doing good deeds if you're not praying if you're not obeying Allah if you're not fulfilling your obligations then to claim and pretend that your heart is pure is a lie and the Iman is not just the the IM in the heart but it's also the action that you do and the statements that you make those things are what make you a True Believer so you cannot come and pretend it's just my heart and my heart is pure that's that's not enough and that's not an answer and when you say that there are people who pray but they steal there are people who wear the but they do wrong Allah told you that you have your the responsibility of yourself all you believe upon you is the responsibility of yourself those who are misguided are not going to harm you when it comes to responsibility so meaning what this verse means is on the day of Allah is not going to tell you why did your friend not eat not wear the hijab why did your friend not pray he's going to tell you why you didn't pray so don't start using other people as an excuse and if you say the people who wear the the hijab are bad examples then why don't you be the the good example you wear the hijab and be with the pure heart and be the good example you know we're looking for good examples but don't try and pretend as if just because there is bad examples now that wearing the hijab is also a bad thing right so that's very important now these type of verses are very important for these type of people to wake up and understand your heart is not pure and you need to be doing actions as well right so Allah he says what does the word in the Arabic language mean it usually means day and this 24 hours day that we have in Islam it's or islamically usually it is divided into two parts right a day and night we divide between a is the night and the day is the day right and the night precedes the day so right now uh we are in the night of Thursday right now we are in the night of Thursday but the day of Thursday did not come yet so the night precedes the day the night precedes the day so why Allah called is because they the night have already passed and there is no other day coming after it it is going to be the last day the last day that ever comes to the people they're not going to be any more day coming after right so the night precedes the day and it's called because it is the last day there's not going to be any day that comes after so uh Allah says from the people are those who sayel uh refutes their their statement Allah refutes their Claim by saying that they are not actually truly Believers as they pretend to to be Believers and that what does that show us that shows us that that many people can make statements many people can make claims many people can say I'm this I'm that I'm this I'm that but in reality they're not so it is not enough for someone to to make a claim to say I'm good or I'm doing good or I'm a Believer or I'm a m for you to be a m there are a lot of people who say something when in reality what they they're hiding in their heart is a complete opposite so it shows us that there are people or many people who pretend to be a certain way to deceive the others while in reality they're hiding something else in their heart okay uh then Allah says so they they attempt or they seek to deceive Allah right and they also attempt and they seek to deceive the Believers uh but they are truly only deceiving themselves uh but they fail to perceive it or they are unaware of it so they are attempting to deceive Allah they attempting to deceive the Believers but in reality they are only deceiving themselves so Allah he says what does here it means that they are attempting or perceiving yourself they think that they are deceiving Allah of course no one can deceive his Lord you can only deceive yourself that's why Allah is saying and they're only deceiving themselves and in the Arabic language has two meanings the one meant here is is to hide something means they're hiding something here they're hiding that they are disbelievers in their heart and they're hiding that they are disbelievers towards Allah and they're hiding it towards the Muslims but they're only deceiving themselves right they're only deceiving themselves and they do not know that they're only deceiving themselves and from it you can see the the of the Prophet where he says and the prayer of a woman in her here it means in in her hidden place right if a woman prays in a hidden place is better than he prays in her in her room or in her in her house it is better because it's more hidden so the more hidden it is the prayer of a woman the bitter it is the more reward reward rewardable it is for that woman so this is here it comes from the word to hide to hide something so they are hiding that they are disbelievers or they are showing as if they are believers and from here uh you can see the now there are certain uh attributes that we will see when we're reading the Quran is called the attributes of M the attributes that that are of countering and and these attributes are usually attributes that are if you say them alone without a counter they are uh not praiseworthy attributes for example deceiving here or deceiving so Allah you cannot attribute deceiving to Allah that he starts to deceive someone initially that is not a praiseworthy attribute but this attribute can be used in counter of someone who's trying to deceive Allah so you can attribute to Allah as as a counter of someone who's trying to deceive Allah so someone is trying to mock Allah but the truth is Allah is mocking them so Allah can mock the people and Allah can plot against the people and can do all of these different things if they start to do it first towards Allah but you cannot generally describe the action towards Allah without it without it being in a in a context of countering so in this case here they are trying to deceive Allah but in reality Allah has caused them to deceive themselves so now and this is a praiseworthy attribute now when someone is trying to deceive you and you know they're trying to deceive you so then by extension that they are deceiving themselves now as a counter so only a god which is not all knowing is going to be deceived by someone who's trying to deceive him but because Allah is all knowing and the Creator is all knowing then the Creator turn turns that deception upon themselves turns that deception upon the people who are trying to deceive Allah so these attribute are called attributes are called and and these attributes we will see them when we're explain in the Quran and verses of the Quran that they can be used and they can be described to Allah only in a matter of countering when Allah is responding to to them when they're trying to deceive Allah when Allah is responding to them when they're trying to mock Allah okay and when Allah says but they are truly deceiving themselves there is a beautiful verse that the MU here use to demonstrate or to tell you what what it means that they are deceiving themselves and and this verse is where Allah says it's on the day of judgment when the the Hypocrites the women men and women they say to the light to everyone when they're on their way they're go to the Allah is going to give the people lights so Allah is going to give the Believers light and depending on the righteousness of the people and this and that there some lighter lights will be brighter than others so Allah is going to give lights to the Believers and he's going to give lights to the kufar as well right so they will be in a specific place where they will be given light so they will take the light and they will start to make their way towards the when when they are on their way that light is going to disappear so the light of the hypocrites the is going to disappear while the light of the Believers will remain with them the light of the will disappear while the light of the Believers will remain with them so then the now is going to say wait wait for us give us some of your light or or let us use your light where we we're going so the Believers are going to say to the go back go back and seek light from the same place that you got light from the beginning so there was a place you took the light from go back to that same place and try to get light so they will go back the and then they will not find idite anymore in that place and then when they're trying to come back to the Believers again then they will be a wall that will be placed between them and the Believers then the the Hypocrites the are going to say with you in the D you know we're fighting with you in the battle and we're on social media with you defending and making videos and this weren't you with weren't you with you weren't we with you right weren't we trying to deceive you in reality so when they say weren't we with you they were were pretending as if they were with the Believers right so then the Believers are say are going to say yes rather that you give FNA to yourselves and and you pretended all right uh and and you did Evil deeds in reality and and that the Hope Has deceived you the hope of that that nothing is going to happen to you and that that you are invincible has deceived you so when Allah says that they are deceiving themselves this is now the actual example of how they're deceiving themselves that deceiving that they do to themselves is going to be apparent on the day of judgment when this happens they are the ones who are going to be deceived they they are going to think that they going to find light when they come back and they will find nothing because they were trying to deceive the those Believers in the dya they are the ones who have been deceived on the day of judgment it is really important to see who who can deceive who so this is a perfect explanation that the use to say rather they are deceiving themselves because in the end this will be the their end result then Allah [Music] says in their heart there is disease so Allah increased them in disease and they have a painful punishment uh because of the lies that they they will suffer it because of the lies that they used to make that they will suffer a painful punishment because of their lies so Allah says and they they will have a painful punishment because of their lies so now here you see Allah is saying first we spoke about some of the heart heart diseases in the previous episodes you can refer to that if you you want to understand what types of heart diseases are there and then Allah says he increased them in disease and we described last time and we said last time that Allah does not initiate to misguide someone until that someone chooses the path of misguidance himself and this is an example here that someone chooses to have a disease in in his heart so Allah increases him disease and from that you see the scholars they're bringing this rule general rule that the uh retribution or the punishment is based on the action or it is from the same type of the action if you do an evil action you have a bad punishment if you do a good action you have a good punishment and this rule that they has many evidences in the Quran andah for example this verse is that he did they did an evil action of having heart disease the retribution was that they had more disease than their heart for example Allah says in the Quan is there any reward for for being good except goodness so the the the reward or the retribution is from the same kind of uh uh as the action from the same type as the action that you would do and for example Allah says be merciful to those in in the earth and Allah will be merciful for you so by you by the action you being merciful Allah is going to be merciful with you as a reward so the reward or the punishment is from the same type of the action that you will do good actions give you good rewards and bad actions give you bad punishments right so this is a general rule that the scholars mention as we said there's many evidences for it for example this verse when Allah says means it's a painful punishment it's a painful grave punishment and and if you want to say see the the punishments we will be speaking inallah about when we while we'll explain if Allah gives us life we'll be talking about now the punishment types of punishments and hellfire and how severe they are and the different types that Allah has prepar prepared for those and for those then Allah says uh when it is said to to them to those Hypocrites do not cause corruption in the land do not be evil doers do not spread false of the among the Muslims do not spread false information do not lie do not steal do not corrupt they say we are mus we are reformers we are people of good we are righteous individuals we are reforming we're doing good we are causing goodness amongst the people that's what they pretend to be so when it is said to them do not cause corruption in the land they say you we're doing good man what are you talking about we are helping the people we're spreading knowledge information you say to them stop spreading lies about the prophet they say to you that look we're spreading goodness right even you see the kufar they're telling you we're guiding we're trying to save the the people you know you speak to the Christians we're trying to save you so they will tell you something as if uh they're spreading good goodness and righteousness while in reality they're spreading evil uh and what is these types of Corruptions many as we said for example spreading lies uh amongst the people spreading lies about the Believers spreading lies Believers spreading lies about one another for example causing Corruption of course we know the killing and the stealing and the murder causing corruption by by causing people's uh like uh him causing the people's willingness to do things you're trying to put them down by telling them you know what we're weak the Muslims are this the Muslims are that don't worry don't do this that the enemies are too strong uh don't fight don't do dawa don't do this you know if you do da maybe someone is going to punish you if you know if you grow your beard then maybe someone is going to put you in prison if you wear the hijab then you might get attacked as a woman this is what thef do thef they they SP spread corruption in the land in this way they try to put the Muslims down they they try to scare the Muslims and that's why we say the danger of the is greater than the danger of the kufar and it is very grave to call someone it is more grave than uh to call a person a a a CF that's why you see you know when we all know who is you know what did he say to his people he said I'm not I'm only showing you what what I see and I'm guiding misguide you so what they have to do in the end is that they they have to try to pretend as if they're good people and that they're trying to call people towards goodness while in in reality they're
