HOW DO I OVERCOME FEAR | EXPERIENCE THE PEACE OF GOD

foreign let's have a quick word of prayer father we thank you for your word we exalt your holy name and we ask Lord that you instruct Us in the wisdom of God by your Holy Spirit this will ask in Jesus name amen okay I have something that I believe um that will be of benefit to you um because of the seasons and the times that we live in there's a whole lot going on on planet Earth today and a lot of people are worried about the things happening and there's so many questions even among Believers but there's nothing that is going on that is actually new let me read for you um quickly second Timothy chapter 3 verse 1. um this is Paul writing to Timothy and he said you should know this Timothy that in the last days there will be very difficult times um another translation says in the last days there will be perilous times that'll be very difficult times actually the Bible lets us know that as a result of this that the hearts of many will fail them there will be so much fear when people observe what is happening on planet Earth um there's a scripture um go with me to Luke chapter 21 Luke 21 verse 26 Luke 21 verse 26 um I will read this in the new King James translation it says man's Hearts filling them from fear and the expectations of those things which are coming on the earth for the powers of the heavens will be shaken When You observe what is on the news When You observe um the rumors about the walls the room was about the recession the rumors about everything going on um there's a tendency for one to give into fear but you see there is a charge God has given you and I that is very very important if you're wondering in this time how do I function in the peace of God how do I live in a time like this and not be worried how do I function and not dwell in fear how do I function and not um panic it's important that you look into the word of God number one I want to show you Jesus said that he has given us his peace he didn't say he will he said he has already given to you and I his peace let me show it to you in the Bible go with me to John chapter 14 John Chapter 14 verse 27 John Chapter 14 verse 27 look at this he said Peace I live with you my peace I give to you not as the world gives do I give to you let not your heart be troubled neither Let It Be Afraid Jesus said my peace I give to you I give you my peace he has already done that so I want you to know this as a child of God you have the peace of God and that peace is very irrespective of what is going on in the world you see Jesus didn't say I give you my peace but it is subject to the circumstances he didn't say I give you my peace but this peace is subject to what is on on the news no he said I give you my peace and he said it's not like the Peace of the world the Peace of the world is based on circumstances the peace of God rides above all irrespective of what is going on and he said I give you my peace now but there's something there that I want you to see please this is very very vital Isaiah chapter 26 talks about a major key here and if you're gonna function in the peace of God it's important you have an understanding of this scripture Isaiah chapter 26 look at verse 3. he said you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you he will keep you God will keep us in perfect peace it is God's word but look at what he says you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you there's a connection between where your mind is focused and the dimension of peace that you experience now you see it is our duty to make sure that our mind is constantly focused on God because whatever you give attention will give you Direction if you spend majority of your time so immersed in in what is going on in the news what is going on on social media what is by the way have you ever noticed that there is really no good news out there on the social media platforms and and good news is not hot news it's only bad news that trends so it's important you understand this God said you say you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed he stayed on you whose mind is stayed on you it is our duty to take our mind and keep it on God now for that to happen it means that we have to take our minds off the distractions of the news it's sad to point out that there are certain Believers today that are more aware of what is trending than they are what the word of God says they can tell you the latest news the latest Trend and all that and what is going on here what is going on there but they've not taken time to put their mind on God's word and as a result of that because of what they focused on the fear that is prevalent in the world has has come upon them so much that they are filled with with fear so I'll read this again for us Isaiah chapter 26 I'm reading verse 3 and this is the new King James translation you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you so child of God it is your duty to ensure that your mind is stayed on God and as you do so God has already given you his word that he will keep you in perfect peace that work there is shalom shalom perfect peace because your mind is stayed on God and because you trusted now look at this um Proverbs chapter 4 verse 23. Proverbs chapter 4 and verse 23. it is a popular scripture he says guard your heart with all diligence guard your heart keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life Keep Your Heart Guard your hearts you must watch over your heart in other words see it's not God's duty to God my heart God is not the one that turned on the social media post God is not the one that went to listen to that news God is it's not his duty to do that it is our duty to guard our hearts because anything you permit to come into your heart will determine what will flow out of it so look at this again please this is Proverbs chapter 4 and verse 23. is a watch over your heart if you read it in the Amplified translation watch over your heart with all diligence for from it flows the spring of life let's find another translation and read it if you look at this in New Living Translation it says guard your heart Above All Else you are meant to guard your heart God your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life so see you have the right to turn off the TV if what is coming in from there is producing fear and unbelief you have the right to switch off your phone if what is coming in there is producing fear and unbelief don't say oh if God wants to guard my heart he will that's not the way it works it is our duty to guard our heart he said God your heart above all else for it determines the cause of your life anything you give attention to will determine what will happen to you next this is so vital and so important you can't keep feeding on junk you can keep feeding on bad news you can't keep feeding on things that do not build up your faith things that are not a Divine and you expect that you be a person of faith it doesn't work that way have you ever examined the percentage how much time you spend on faith building materials versus how much time you spend on things that do not build up your feet we all have 24 hours in a given day have you ever checked one day I encourage you take time and examine and find out check and see how how many hours in a day did you spend with something that will build up your faith versus how much you're exposed to what is going on out there in the world okay so let's end with this story is a very popular story and it it illustrates this for us go with me to Matthew chapter 14. Matthew chapter 14. Matthew chapter 14 the peace of God is yours but you've got to know you've got to know what to do you've got to know what to do Matthew chapter 14 I'm gonna now this is the story of where um the disciples were caught up in a storm and Jesus came walking on water and when he came Walking On Water Peter um they were afraid and Jesus reassured them he said I'm the one and Peter said if you are the one who call me to come on water and Jesus said come and let's see what happened let's see what happened um let me back up a little bit and read from verse 22 immediately after this Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake while he sent the people home after sending them home he went up into the hills by himself to pray night fell while he was there alone meanwhile the disciples were in trouble faring away from land for a strong wind had risen and they were fighting heavy waves about three o'clock in the morning Jesus came toward them walking on the water when the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified In Their Fear they cried out it's a ghost but Jesus spoke to them at once don't be afraid he said take courage I am here then Peter called to him Lord if it's really you tell me to come to you walking on the water yes come Jesus said so Peter went over the side of the boat watch this and walked on the water towards Jesus please it's important you know this Peter stepped out of the boat walked on the water towards Jesus so as long as his eyes were on Jesus heading towards Jesus he walked on water he did the thing that that was trying to sink them all of a sudden became solid he walked over the same circumstance that was trying to drown them but that's not all now look at verse 30 but when he saw the strong wind and the waves when he saw now you can't look at two things at the same time you can have you can focus on two things at the same time try it I humorously put it this way I say you have two eyes keep one on on the on on your right and keep one on your left try to focus on two things that are in opposite directions you will see that you won't be able to do that so watch this as long as people are focused on Jesus I was walking towards Jesus he was walking on water the moment he took his eyes off Jesus I'm focused on the Wind he focused on the wind and the waves long enough that he noticed that they were boisterous the question is this while he was initially walking on water where they're not boisterous they were but that was not his Focus you see his Focus was on Jesus but the moment he took it off Jesus and focused on the circumstances and focused on the news and focused on what was trending and focused on the Wind then circumstances came over and took over the same person that was walking on water a few minutes ago so let me read verse 30 again for us but when he saw the strong wind and the waves he was terrified and immediately he began to sink Save Me Lord he shouted Jesus reached out and grabbed him you have so little faith Jesus said why did you doubt me for there to be doubt you have to take your eyes of Jesus and focus on things you see what you focus on matters if you're going to experience the continual peace of God the Bible says this you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is focused on you now you see the moment you take your eyes and your focus of the Lord and focus on circumstances and focus on things then your faith can function at optimal level anymore and that is how to lose peace you lose peace when you take your eyes off Jesus you lose peace when you take your eyes off the promises of God in his word you lose peace when you make things and circumstances your focus instead of focusing on the word of God and that is exactly what is going on with a whole lot of people now that's why Satan is loud you must understand why bad news is trending news they need your attention they know that you can't give your attention to them and keep it on the Lord at the same time a whole lot of things in these last days are begging for your attention you've got to make up your mind where to keep it you keep your attention on the Lord perfect peace he's able to sustain you even in the midst of a storm you keep your attention on the world chaos fear a lot of anxiety and sadly this is what a whole lot of people are dealing with today I encourage you child of God the time to make your eyes single is now take your eyes off the noise practice switching off stuff once in a while remove the notifications you must not know everything going on God didn't call us to do that there are certain knowledge that you don't even need to have that's the truth there are certain knowledge that you have no business with it's not everything that God has called you to be a party too you must not know what's going on everywhere the most important is do you know what God is doing keep your eyes on him he will keep in perfect peace that person whose mind is stayed on him and that is your portion in Jesus mighty name let me pray with you father I thank you for this precious soul of yours thank you for the restoration of of peace and faith I rebuke the spirit of fear right now lose your hold over God's child in the name of Jesus Christ we speak the peace of God we command the waters to become we speak the peace of God over you in the name of Jesus thank you Father thank you Lord thank you Holy Spirit for your guidance thank you for strength to focus on you and to focus on what matters most exalted be your holy name this will declare in
