Nike and Asia Wilson team up once again for the Nike A2s. And I got to say these feel outside of the last like an overall upgrade, which I'm sure they should because, you know, the price went up. It went up by a lot. Went from like 110 to like 145. Yeah, they were anywhere between 110 to 115 and the A2s are 145. That's crazy. And all they did was give you some zoom. What? Whatever, bro. Whatever. Nike, you do you. Seems to be working great for you right now. Hey, what's going on guys? My name's Chris. Welcome back to the official wear testers.com YouTube channel. Today we got a detailed look and breakdown on the Nike A2 for Asia Wilson. This colorway has been simply dubbed You want to guess it? Yeah, like the colorway is name. You get one good guess. It's super clever. What do you see? >> It's not like bubblegum pink. Ain't >> wrong. >> Do you see a pink shoe? >> I do see a pink shoe. >> That's its name. It's just a pink shoe. >> A pink shoe. >> A pink shoe. So, I can only look at one at a time. >> I'm just saying it's clever, but also not. >> That's a pink shoe. >> It's a pink shoe. >> Okay. Get it right. Now, this is the box. I'm not sure if every box will look just like this as far as like overall color and things like that. But the next colorway does release soon, so we'll see. Now, the Nike A1 was a solid performer outside of one thing, at least for me, and that was just the overall fit. They've got that weird bunion maker last on the shoe and they seem to have carried that over to this shoe. I don't know. I do not know why they are so adamant about this last, but in the realm of like, oh, signature athletes aren't selling shoes. It's like, no, dude. The shoes you're making kind of suck. They hurt your feet, dude. You know what I'm saying? Like, like what happened to you guys? You know how many Nikes I've owned over the years? A lot. And it wasn't until they switched to this last that Nikes really started to go downhill fast. Like a lot of people don't with these. They simply don't fit people's feet. And that's not to say that, oh, this is a women's model, so that's why they're using that last. It's like, no, dude. This is the last they're using on the KDs, on the LeBron, on the Futures, on the GT Cuts. Actually, that was a slightly different last, the GT Cut Force, but you get my drift. The Book Twos, they're using a bunion maker last, and it's not good. However, the rest of the shoe is awesome. I will say like the upgrades that they've done to these is great. I don't think that they warrant that extra price point, but you know, that is what it is. I personally think that her price point should be right around where Kyrie's price point was. I think that that for what you're getting out of the shoe would be perfect. But again, the small things that they've done to I guess you could just call it like upgrade this compared to the A1, I think are good moves overall. Starting with the traction, I mean, this looks and feels awesome. Granted, the A1 had great traction, too, but herring bone is just awesome. So, I'm really excited to try this out on court. I'm not excited about the fit cuz they they do hurt like and I don't need to go up half a size. I don't need to go down half a size. They fit me perfectly from a length perspective. They just don't fit my foot shape. But in addition to the herring bone, we've also got some flex grooves in there, which is awesome. Uh, one of the weirder things though is that they're really depicting the zoom unit and its placement. When in fact, this is not where the zoom unit is. Well, I mean, technically it is, but it's not right there. It kind of reminds me of the Kobe ADS, the very first ones where they told you etched in plastic in the heel that there was a fat ass Zoom Air unit and it was really just this rinky dinky one placed in the heel. That's kind of what this is. Even though this is the overall shape and size of the Zoom unit, it's just not bottom loaded. It's top loaded. But it's cool that they're showing you exactly where it is, even though it's not exactly there. One of the cooler parts, though, is that this particular pair does feature a translucent rubber outsole, which could be good or bad from a performance perspective. But in the heel, you're able to actually see the corded out little sections within the heel's midsole that allow the midsole to really just kind of like do its thing. I've talked about this many times in the past, and you could see it in something just like this, but you could actually see it through the outsole here. So, yeah, very cool. Now, speaking of the cushion, the midsole itself is Kushlon 3.0. The 4foot does feature that shape and size articulated Zoom unit. What I really like, though, is that you could feel it. Like, these are comfortable. And I'm talking about like just from a try-on, fresh out the box, they feel good underfoot. It's awesome. The A1's felt okay, but the A2s, again, they just feel like a very good upgrade. So, I really like that. Now, the upper is kind of like I don't know what to say about it exactly, even though I do, but like I don't know what to categorize it as. Like, I don't feel like this is an upgrade. I don't feel like it's a downgrade. I feel like it's interesting. That's one thing. Like, interesting is probably one of those words that I use too often, but it's when I do find something genuinely interesting. So, the online aspect, speaking of which, brief pause. I got to give kudos to the Nike people because whoever designed this particular shoes landing page, and I have not checked to see if they do this on all shoes now, but on this particular shoe, they added tech specs, and when you drop down the little bar, it has additional info like the heel totoe drop, the weight, all that kind of stuff. I thought that was really cool. So, yeah, I dig that. But anyways, on their landing page, they do say that the upper right here is a molded upper, which it is technically. And then they also come with that little sticker that says that the materials are all synthetic, so there's nothing genuine on the shoe. For 145, I just I just don't like that like from a general consumer standpoint. Like$145 is kind of a premium price. Like we're $5 away from 150, which I think is that kind of like signature sweet spot so long as you're getting what you pay for. 145/150 for plastic. >> GET THAT OUT OF MY FACE. If the shoe had carbon fiber or really good state-of-the-art tensile fibers that were TPU based, then I could see those prices being justified. But like this is like as simple as it gets in terms of overall price and package. And even though I think that the cushion that they come with is great. Those are Nike standards in terms of overall cushioning. At least they should be. So again, for 145, like I don't know, like give me full length zoom, give me heel and forefoot zoom plus the cushon. You know what I'm saying? like like do a little bit extra cuz when I'm comparing something like this to something like say the series player only player 1.5, I mean that shoe's got state-of-the-art midsole technology. It's got state-of-the-art TPU yarns. It's got carbon fiber all over the place. A durable outsole that's great for indoors and outdoors. Yes, it's more expensive, but all of the features that it gives you are why it's more expensive. But anyways, in terms of this sho's upper, sorry for the side tangent, is all synthetic everything. And then when I was like checking out the shoe over here, I'll just use this one as an example. Like when you're looking at the molded upper, it looks like a I guess you could just call it a regular synthetic build, but uh what it actually is is wrapping or covering a straight up plastic build. So like this whole sidewall right here, all on the inside and all of this is just plastic. So will that plastic be supportive? Yes. But it's like taking the easy way out in terms of giving you support. I don't know. It It's just weird. They make it look like it could be a premium package, but it's totally not. I will say that the interior medial side of the shoe does not feature plastic. Instead, it features a lot of cutout zones full of ventilation points, which I think is awesome. So, it's not all bad. And I will say that they do feel like they will support you from a kind of like lateral standpoint way better than something like say the Jaw 3s. I don't mean to keep throwing that shoe under the bus. It's just a good example. If we're comparing Nike to Nike, this one feels more supportive than those. The center of the shoe is kind of weird. You got the textiles that are basically reminiscent of the A1 in this midsection of the shoe. I don't really understand the the design here. Like, is it for flexibility, mobility, all that stuff? I don't know. Is it just like a nice break point from all of the plastic stuff? I don't really know. Looks a little strange, too. But, you know, it is what it is. Hopefully, it plays well. What I'm really hoping for is just that they break in like quickly or at least that my feet get used to it. That's one of the weird things like when we're talking about breaking in shoes. Can you actually break in leathers? Yes. Like those mold to your feet. Can you break in a last and a shoe that's shelled or shaped with plastic? Not usually. Like usually that's just your foot getting used to that and not necessarily breaking them in. Like when you put them on every time and they feel the same. That's not a broken in shoe. That's just you being like, I got to do this again. This is the insole, by the way, just in case you were curious. Is it a piece of kind of It's not great. It's not awful. It's just what it is. If you wanted to change it out for anything else, you can. Just make sure that you do it before all this glue that you see is heated up from you wearing them and then stuck to the strobble underneath. However, if you end up doing that, you can always use a hair dryer on the lowest heat setting until it loosens that glue up. Then you can pull it back out and then swap it out for anything else that you'd like. So again, most of the changes that they've made here, I think are a huge plus. Very much a positive direction. But if they would just change that last, I think that that would be the biggest difference maker of anything else. Take away the bunion maker last, put in a regular foot shape last, and I mean, I'm telling you, people will buy these for retail price. even though it looks like that they did with this particular colorway, but we'll see what happens with the rest of them. Now, in terms of overall fit, they do fit true to size. But again, that last is kind of awful. So, if you did not like the way that the A1's fit, then you probably will not like the way that the A2s fit. But on the flip side, if you did like it, then you will probably love these widefooters, try them on in store if possible. On top of all of that, what do you think about the Nike A2s? Do you think that this is an upgrade? Do you think that the price point is worthy of the incredible jump? What I'm used to$10 inc? This was 110 to 115 to 145. Wow. But either way, I'm excited to play in these, so who knows what'll happen. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for watching. We'll catch you guys in the next one. Until then, you guys have a good
