Life lessons. No one told me when I was younger. One, you train people how to treat you unconsciously or not. Your boundaries teach others how to value you or how to take advantage of you. Two, it is better to live with one person of high soul and be independent than to lead a miserable life in the company of many. Quality of company matters far more than quantity. Three, knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Wisdom is applying knowledge with discernment. Four, some people aren't antisocial. They are just very selective about who they associate with. Protecting your energy is not isolation. It's self-respect. Five, the truth doesn't cost anything, but a lie could cost you everything. Honesty is free, but deceit demands [music] endless payment. Six, the more you are interested in others, the more interesting they will find you. To be interesting, be interested. Curiosity builds connection faster than charm. Seven, life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once. Your time is your currency. Invest it wisely. Eight, forget what hurts you, but never forget what it taught you. Pain fades, but the lesson is worth keeping. Nine, there is only one quality worse than hardness of heart, and that is softness of head. Kindness without wisdom becomes weakness. 10, [music] if you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid. Growth requires the courage to look unskilled at first. 11, nothing is [music] permanent. Don't stress yourself too much. No matter how bad the situation is, it will change. Both pain and joy are temporary. Flow with change. 12, you will not be punished for your anger. You will be punished by your anger. Uncontrolled anger harms the vessel that carries it. 13, focus on what you can control and let go of what you cannot. Energy flows where your attention lives. Choose carefully. 14, never go to the past, [music] not for happiness, not for justification, not for excuses. The past is a lesson, not a place to live. 15, you cannot change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails to reach your destination. Adaptation is the quiet strength that wins in the end. 16, the calmer you are, the clearer you think.
