They have designated Bhavasagara as the national repository for deep-sea fauna. See students, it is said that Mariana Trench it is the deepest point in ocean. Right? It is even deeper than height of Mount Everest. Almost 9,000 m to 10,000 m. Right? Now, the interesting thing to know here is that almost 90% of the species or marine species, they are still unknown to us. We haven't discovered it. Right? So, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, they have designated Bhavasagara as the national repository for the deep-sea fauna. What is fauna? Fauna is the collection of species that are related to animals and flora is species collection of species or species that are for plants. Correct? So, this Bhavasagara Referral Centre, that is the Centre for Marine Living Resource and Ecology that is located in Kochi, Kerala has been designated as the national repository for the deep-sea fauna. Here we will be seeing that multiple database for marine ecosystem will be maintained. Right? Marine species will be maintained. Here this will also serve as the official custodian of the newly discovered deep-sea species from Indian water. Right students, so take a note of this. Next is India has emerged as the global leader in issuing IRCCs under Nagoya Protocol on ABS. Here, NBA, National Biodiversity Authority, it comes under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and they have announced that our country, India, has emerged as the global leader in issuing internationally recognized certificates of compliance under Nagoya Protocol. So, to understand this news, you need to know students what the Nagoya Protocol is. Right? This is a legal framework. It is an international legal framework that supplements the Convention on Biological Diversity. It was adopted on 29th of October in 2010 in Nagoya, Japan, but entered into a force on 12th of October in 2014. This framework is primarily designed to ensure the effective implementation of one of the three objectives of CBD, that is Convention on Biological Diversity, that is fair and equitable sharing of the benefits that are arising out of the utilization of the genetic resources. Correct? So, this is your Nagoya Protocol. And Nagoya is a place in Japan. So, this protocol was signed in Japan. And in May 2011, India signed the protocol and later ratified it in 2012. Right? So, this is your Nagoya Protocol signed in Japan. Now, coming back to the news students, we are seeing that India has emerged as the global leader in issuing IRCCs. What are IRCCs? Internationally recognized certificates of compliance under this Nagoya Protocol. As per the data of from the access and benefit sharing, that is ABS Clearing House of India has issued almost 3,561 IRCCs out of total of 6,311 that were issued globally. That is more than 56% of all the certificates that were issued worldwide. So, directly remember. Next, next is Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation has developed India's Sustainable Development Goal Dashboard in collaboration with UN Resident Coordinator office. See now you need to understand one thing is students that we United Nations they have launched certain you Sustainable Development Goals. Right? And every country needs to adopt these goals so for a better living. Correct? So India's to monitor the Sustainable Development grow or Sustainable Development Goal grow growth in India a particular dashboard was established that will track the growth in these adoption of these Sustainable Development Goals in India in various states. It is based on that and Ministry of Education they collaborated with CBSE and has launched a new curriculum on the Computational Thinking and AI for the classes third to eighth that will be implemented from 2026-27 academic session. Now if we talk about the classes from third to fifth this will be activity based learning with basic Computational Thinking and Logic Building exercise. Whereas for classes sixth to eighth introduction of AI concepts, coding fundamentals and real-world application will be monitored. Next is Department of Telecommunication extended the SIM binding deadline for OTT platforms to 31st of December 2026. Right? What is this OTT over-the-top platforms such as your Netflix, Amazon Prime. Right? Jio Hotstar. So these are your OTT platforms. So Department of Telecommunication they have extended the deadline for these OTT platforms to implement SIM binding by 31st of December 2026. Right? What is this new SIM binding framework basically? Correct? This SIM binding requires OTT applications to remain continuously linked to a mobile number preventing use without an active SIM. Right? That means if there is an active SIM in your mobile phone, right? Then or basically uh say sometimes there is a number, correct? And that was linked to a particular OTT. But this SIM got disabled. Right? This number got disabled. Now still there are certain OTTs that are allowing this number, correct? So that they can log in through it. Right? And they have been registered on these OTT platforms under certain profiles. So now what the government is saying that all such inactive SIM numbers need to be disabled. All these disabled SIMs that are linked to those profiles those profiles need to be disabled and updated and those profiles they should have active SIM. That means active SIM binding should be there.
