like it and call your helpers besides Allah if you are truthful but if you cannot do it and you will never be able to do it then fear the fire whose fuel is people and stones prepared for the disbelievers Bakara verse 23 one day Utba went to the Messenger of Allah and said my nephew as you know you are from our tribe and family and you have honour among us but by bringing this strange claim you have divided our people you accused us of being without mind you insulted our gods and our religion you said our fathers who believed in them were disbelievers with this you will bring a sword among us and cause us to fight each other so I will give you some offers maybe you will accept one of them utbah continued my nephew if your aim with this is to gain wealth then leave it and we will give you great wealth from our own if your aim is to seek honor we will make you the greatest among us and consult you in all matters if your aim is kingship we will make you our king if you are under the effect of a jin then we will treat you and spend money until you are healed the Messenger of Allah (SAW) listened calmly and then said bismillahirrahmanirrahim this is a book sent down from Allah the Rahman and Rahim a book in Arabic with its verses explained bringing good news and warning for people who understand but most of them turn away and do not listen they say our hearts are covered from what you call us to in our ears there is heaviness and between us and you there is a barrier say I am only a human like you it is revealed to me that your god is only one god so turn to him and ask his forgiveness and for those who do shirk there is punishment Utbah leaned back with his arms behind him and listened to the verses as if enchanted when the Messenger of Allah finished and made Sujud he said to him o father of Walid did you listen yes I listened Utbah replied without saying anything more he stood up as if struck and left people on the way looked at him in surprise and said to each other by Allah by Allah it is as if Utbah's strength has been broken Utba said I swear by Allah Muhammad made me listen to words that I have never heard before in my life I swear those words are neither poetry nor magic nor fortune telling Abu Hurairah said Abu Jahal and the other leaders of the disbelievers were sitting in the courtyard of the Ka'bah Abu Jahal said to them by Lat and Uzza if Muhammad comes here and makes sujd while I am present I will step on his neck and rub his face in the dust soon after the Messenger of Allah entered the Kabah courtyard prayed and made sujd then Abu Jahl stood up and went towards him but as he came close he suddenly stopped in fear raised his hands to protect his face and stepped back the disbelievers asked him what happened to you Abu Jahl replied as I came near Muhammad I saw before me a trench full of fire and I heard terrifying sounds of wings when this was later told to the Messenger of Allah he said if he had come closer to me the angels would have torn him apart with their wings and thrown him into that fire then Allah revealed this verse indeed man transgresses when he thinks himself independent but to your Lord is the return do you see the one who forbids a servant when he prays have you seen if he is upon guidance or commands righteousness do you see if he denies and turns away does he not know that Allah sees if he does not stop we will drag him by the forelock a lying sinful forelock then let him call his companions we will call the angels of punishment no do not obey him but make sujd and draw near to your Lord the Messenger of Allah (SAW) speaking with the dead in the grave the Messenger of Allah said to a man become a Muslim the man replied if you bring my dead daughter back to life I will become a Muslim the Messenger of Allah said show me her grave the man took him to his daughter's grave the Messenger of Allah called to the grave o daughter of so and so do you want to return to the world? the dead girl replied from the grave no o Messenger of Allah I found Allah better for me than my parents and I found the hereafter better than the world then she became silent again Allah's messenger added he does not speak from his own desire his words are only revelations sent to him the curse against Amir ibn Tufail Abdullah ibn Abu Talha said when the delegation of Bani Amir came to the Messenger of Allah among them were Amir ibn Tufail and Arbad ibn Qais they did not come to believe but to make a plan to kill him Amir said to Arbad I will keep him busy in conversation then you strike him with the sword from behind they sat down the Messenger of Allah invited them to Islam Amir said if you give me control over the people of tents villages and desert then I will become Muslim the Messenger of the worlds replied no one can put conditions to become Muslim leadership cannot be bought or sold Amir said by Allah I will gather an army full of horses and attack Medina then he stood up and left the Messenger of Allah prayed oh Allah curse this man stop his evil and give him a deadly disease when Amir left he turned angrily to Arbad and said why did you not strike him that was our plan Arbad answered by Allah every time I lifted my sword to strike him I saw you standing in front of me would you want me to strike you then both of them set off to return to their land on the way Amir was struck with cholera he entered a woman's house in the village of Banu Sulul and died there Al Bad continued on his way and reached his home but two days later while selling a camel a lightning bolt sent by Allah struck him and burned him together with his camel after this event Allah revealed the verse the thunder praises Allah with his praise and the angels too out of fear of him he sends the thunderbolts and strikes with them whomever he wills while they dispute about Allah Surah Rad Ayat 13 the story of'ais ibn Amir 'ais ibn Amir said at the battle of Hunain an arrow struck my forehead the blood flowed down my face and reached my chest the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saw this he placed his hand on my forehead and moved it down to my chest wiping the blood the wound healed instantly and the places where his hand passed became a white line as you can see today the story of Hakim ibn Abi al as hind bint Khadija who was raised by the Prophet said Hakim ibn Abi al as used to mock the Messenger of Allah by twisting his face his eyebrows and his lips in a ridiculous way one day the Messenger of Allah saw him doing this and made a dua against him stay like that forever from that day Hakeem's face was deformed his eyebrows lips and face remained crooked until he died the prophet's warning about the khawarij abu sa'id al-khudri said the messenger of allah was dividing spoils when zulkuaisirah said o messenger of allah be just the messenger of allah replied woe to you if i am not just who can be just no one fears injustice more than I do Umar became angry and said o Messenger of Allah let me strike off his head but the Messenger of Allah said leave him from his descendants will come a people whose prayer and fasting will make you think your own worship is small but their recitation will not go beyond their throats they will leave Islam as the arrow leaves the bow one of them will have a lump on his arm like a woman's breast they will rebel against the best group of Muslims I Abu Sa'id al Khudri testify that I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah and I testify that these people did rise against Ali Ali fought them and defeated them among those captured was their leader I looked at his arm and it was exactly as the Messenger of Allah had described a lump like a woman's breast Ali asked who knows this man one of them said this is Harkis his mother is also among the captives Ali called his mother and asked who is the father of this son she said I do not know I only know that while I was herding sheep in Rabba a shadow came over me I became pregnant and I gave birth to Harkus Harkus born outside of marriage became one of the leaders of the kawaridge one of the 72 misguided sects that broke Islam from within Ali fought them at Nahrawan and killed most of them but some survived for a time just as the Messenger of Allah had said these people worshipped a lot but without knowledge or true understanding they followed only their own opinions they declared most Muslims as disbelievers and they believed it was lawful to kill them and take their wealth and families because of this false belief they also killed Ali the rightful caliph of the Muslims the tree being pulled from the ground and testifying Anas Jabir and Umar Um said the people of Mecca once stoned the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam wounding his body and forcing him out of the city at that time Jibril Alaihissalam came down and asked what happened to you the Messenger of Allah replied these people stoned me Jibril said shall I show you a sign to give you comfort and strength the Messenger of Allah said yes show me Jibril pointed to a tree with many branches and said call this tree and it will come the Messenger of Allah stretched out his blessed fingers and said to the tree come closer to us o tree the tree tore the ground and came forward then he said go back and the tree returned to its place Jibril asked is this enough o Messenger of Allah the Messenger of Allah smiled and said yes Jibril it is enough the fallen eye seeing again Katada ibn Numan said at the battle of Badr an arrow struck my eye and it fell onto my cheek the pain was unbearable and since it seemed useless and only caused me suffering I thought about tearing it out completely at that time the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam called me he looked at me and was saddened by my state he said Bismillah and pressed my eye back into its place with the edge of his palm from that moment the pain disappeared and my eye healed instantly it became so perfect that no one could tell it apart from my healthy eye the Prophet's Dua for Ali ibn Saad said when the disbelievers gathered to attack Medina the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his companions dug trenches around the city the enemy could not cross the trench and had to stay on the other side while the Muslims defended from inside but Amir and a few enemy horsemen managed to jump over at a narrow part of the trench Amir shouted to the Muslims asking for someone to fight him Amir was one of the most famous warriors of the Hijaz region and no one dared to face him when Amir called again Ali said o Messenger of Allah I will fight him the Messenger of Allah said o Ali stay where you are that is Amir Amir mocked the Muslims again saying where is your paradise you claim that if you are killed you will enter paradise yet you are afraid to send anyone against me Ali said again o Messenger of Allah let me fight him please allow me the Prophet said firmly o Ali do you know who he is stay where you are that is Amir known everywhere for his strength but Ali said may my father and mother be sacrificed for you o Messenger of Allah whoever he is I am Ali the son of Abdul Mutalib let me face him then the Messenger of Allah removed his own iron armor and gave it to Ali he handed him his own sword Dhu al fiqar and tied his own turban on Ali's head then he raised his hands and prayed o Allah at Badr you took my uncle's son Ubaydah and at Uhud you took my uncle Hamza Ali is my cousin and my brother do not take him also and leave me alone after that Ali advanced to the battlefield he called out to Amir o Amir now who will save you from my sword defend yourself Ammer was angered that a young man was challenging him he attacked fiercely and the duel began they struck each other with swords until Ali gave a decisive blow and killed Ammer when Ali returned the Messenger of Allah asked him oh Ali how did you feel while fighting Amir Ali replied I felt as if I could fight all the enemies alone and tear them apart the Messenger of Allah said I know oh Ali I prayed strongly to Allah to spare you for me the testimony of the pebbles Ibn Abbas said a group of leaders from Hadramaut came to the messenger of Allah (SAW) among them was ash as Ibn ka'ais they said to the Prophet we made a secret intention among ourselves tell us what it is the Messenger of Allah replied subhanallah intentions like that are only made for fortune tellers but fortune tellers and their fortune telling are in the fire the people of Hadramaut then said then how will we know that you are truly a prophet show us a sign the Messenger of Allah picked up a handful of pebbles from the ground and said you will know I am a prophet from this then in his blessed hand the pebbles began to glorify Allah together the people of Hadramaut saw this and said by Allah this is not magic or sorcery we have never seen anything like this before we testify that you are truly the Messenger of Allah the crying of the tree trunk Jabir Radi Allahu Anhu said in the mosque there was a date palm trunk the Messenger of Allah used to lean on it when giving khutba sermon later a minbar pulpit was built and he began giving the khutba from the minbar instead when the trunk was left behind it began to cry loudly like a camel that had just given birth all of us could hear its sound and could hardly believe what we were hearing the trunk was really crying then the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam stepped down from the minbar and went to the trunk he placed his hand on it and the trunk became quiet as if comforted breaking the Hard Rock Jabir said before the battle of the trench the companions were digging to prepare defenses against the enemy they had not eaten or drunk for days under the hot sun and they were so tired that they could hardly move while digging one of the companions picks struck a very Hard Rock the exhausted men struggled with it but could not break it so they told the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam about the problem the Prophet said pour some water on it after water was poured the Messenger of Allah who had tied stones to his stomach because he had not eaten for three days took the pickaxe in his hands he said Bismillah three times and struck the rock with his strike the rock that they had been trying to break for hours crumbled like sand stopping the shaking of the mountain Anna said the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam once climbed a mountain in one narration uhud in another Hira together with Abu Bakr Umar and Uthman as soon as they climbed the mountain began to shake violently the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam struck the ground with his foot and said o mountain be still upon you are a prophet a sidique and two martyrs the moment he said this the mountain became still the Parchment of Quraish destroyed by a moth the Quraish had forbidden the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his followers from entering the markets and blocked their trade routes during this hardship Allah created a moth inside the Parchment of Quraysh the Parchment that began with Allah's name and contained their unjust agreement by Allah's will the moth ate away the words Allah from the Parchment Quraysh had written these words at the beginning as an oath and witness for their pact when the moth erased them Allah's messenger informed Abu Talib and asked him to tell the Quraysh Abu Talib said by Allah you never speak without knowledge and you never lie I will go and inform them he took some men and went to the mosque where Quraysh had gathered when they saw him they thought he had come to hand over the Prophet because of the suffering but Abu Talib said I bring you important news my nephew Muhammad told me that a moth has eaten the words of Allah in your Parchment this shows that Allah does not approve of the injustice you wrote in it now bring down the Parchment and open it if what he said is true then stop this oppression by Allah if it is true we the sons of Abdul Mutalib will never hand him over to you until all of us are dead but if it is not true then we will hand him to you and you may kill him or release him as you wish the Quraysh accepted this and brought down the Parchment when they opened it they saw that all the words of Allah had indeed been eaten away shocked they said by Allah this is only another of Muhammad's acts of magic we do not accept your condition but Abu Talib replied by Allah Muhammad is not a magician your treatment of us based on this Parchment is nothing but injustice and cruelty Allah did not allow his name to be used for oppression so he made the moth consume it after this some of the clans of Abdul Manaf and Quraysh said we also admit that this is injustice and we will not continue their alliance broke apart and after that the Messenger of Allah and his companions were freed from their confinement and could once again go to the markets the poisoned meat warning the Messenger of Allah Abdullah ibn Abbas said when the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam returned victorious from the battle of Badr a Jewish woman met him at the entrance of Medina she offered him a dish full of cooked meat and said o Muhammad praise be to Allah who brought you back safely before you left I made a vow if Allah returned you safely I would slaughter a lamb cook it and present it to you now I bring it for you and I want you to eat from it when the Messenger of Allah looked into the dish the meat of the lamb spoke and said o Messenger of Allah do not eat me this woman put poison in me to kill you thus Allah warned his messenger through the meat itself discovering the hidden gold when the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam conquered the fortress of Khaybar he said to the disbelievers if you leave your gold and silver your lives will be spared they agreed but two men Kinana and Rafi brought nothing and said we have no gold or silver the Messenger of Allah asked them where are the gold and silver items that you once kept safe for the people of Mecca they replied we broke them and spent them we swear we are not lying the Messenger of Allah said if I uncover what you have hidden I will order your heads to be struck off so bring it yourselves but they insisted we already told you we spent everything then the Messenger of Allah told a companion from Medina go to such and such a field turn right at that place go to the tree there dig beneath it and bring back the gold and silver the companion did as he was told and returned with the gold and silver when the two men saw this with their own eyes they said there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger and they entered Islam the arrows not striking the messenger of Allah Nafi Ibn Jubayr said that one of the muhajiroon told him at the battle of Uhud I was watching the arrows of the enemy they were aiming directly at the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam but whenever the arrows came near him they turned aside to the right or left at the same time I heard Abdullah ibn Shahab a disbeliever shouting show me Muhammad if he escapes today may I never escape yet while he was saying that the Messenger of Allah was passing right beside him and he could not even see him his blessed eyes Ibn Abbas said Muhammad Mustafa the reason for creation could see in the night as clearly as in the day he shone like the moon Abu Huraira said the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam told his companions by Allah I see you behind me just as I see you in front of me when you pray behind me I know how you bow and make sujd Ibn Abbas also said when the master of all masters spoke light would shine visibly from between his front teeth the Prophet healing a mute child and understanding animals during the expedition of data al Rika known as the expedition of wonders and miracles a woman brought her insane son to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) the prophet put some of his blessed saliva into the mouth of the child suddenly the boy recovered and became sane on the same journey while the Prophet was resting in a small Grove Ghauth ibn Harith one of the enemies came close to kill him while he was asleep but the prophet woke up suddenly the man became terrified trembling with fear and dropped his sword to the ground on the way back as they neared the rocky lands of Medina a camel ran up to the Messenger of Allah and made sounds the Prophet said this camel is complaining to me about its owner it says he has used it for heavy work for years and now he wants to slaughter it then the Prophet said to me o Jabir go and bring its owner I said o Messenger of Allah I do not know who the owner is the Prophet replied the camel will show you its owner so the camel walked ahead of me and LED me to the man I brought him back and the Messenger of Allah said your camel has complained to me about you is it true the man answered yes o Messenger of Allah it is true then the Prophet sent as a mercy to the world said treat it well the signs foretold by the Messenger of Allah the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said before the day of judgement mountains will be removed in the year 242 a h during the Caliphate of Al Mutawakil a mountain in Yemen collapsed in the year 300 a h during the rule of al Muqtadir a mountain in bynour sank into the ground and water came out and flooded nearby villages the Messenger of Allah also said when wealth is kept only among the rich when trusts are betrayed when zakat is not given when knowledge is sought only for worldly gain when a man obeys his wife but disobeys his mother when he brings close his friend but distances his father when mosques lose their peace and humility when corrupt people become leaders when the most evil people are chosen to rule when people are honored only because others fear their harm when dancing women and musical instruments spread when alcohol is drunk and when earlier Muslims are insulted then strong winds storms earthquakes landslides transformations and stones falling from the sky will appear the hot wind in Iraq and the removal of the black stone in the year 232 a h during the early years of caliph al Mutawakil an extremely strong and hot wind blew in Iraq it burned and dried up the fields of Kufa Basra and Baghdad travellers on the roads suffocated in it after blowing in these regions for 50 days it moved to Heman destroying crops and killing animals then it reached Mosul and Sinjar stopping people from leaving their homes and killing many the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said before the day of judgement Hajj will be stopped before the day of judgement the black stone will be taken in the time of caliph al Muqtadir pilgrims were sent to Makka under Mansur al daylami but on the day before Arafah Abu Tahir al karamiti the enemy of Allah attacked the city he killed the pilgrims in Masjid al Haram without mercy then broke the black stone from the Kaaba and took it with him the stone stayed with the Karamita for more than 20 years when they took it from the Kaaba to their land in Hajar forty camels died under its weight but when it was returned a weak camel carried it easily Muhammad ibn Rabi ibn Sulaiman said I was there when the Karamita attacked Makkah one of them climbed the roof of the Ka'ba to remove the waterspout as he struggled with it I said oh my lord how patient you are immediately the man fell head first to the ground and died his head smashed Abu Tahir climbed the minbar and said Allah is with me and I am with him he creates people and I kill them but soon after he was struck with small pox and died the magic against the Prophet and its discovery Aisha Radiallahu Anha said the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was affected by magic because of it he imagined that he had done things which he had not done after some time he prayed to Allah to remove this harm later he said to me do you know how Allah answered my prayer I asked how o Messenger of Allah he said while I was lying down two angels came to me and spoke what is wrong with this man magic has been done to him who did it a Jew named Labid ibn Asam with what with a comb hair and a palm branch where did he put it in the well of Darwan the Messenger of Allah went to that well when he saw it he said this is the well that was shown to me its branches look like the hair of devils and its water is like henna then he ordered the magic materials to be taken out of the well after that the Messenger of Allah recited verses from the Quran seeking refuge in Allah and was cured from the illness the three great sinkings of the earth the messenger of the two worlds Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said after me three great sinkings of the earth will happen one in the east one in the west and one in the Arabian Peninsula the companions asked o Messenger of Allah will the earth sink even when righteous people are present there he replied yes when evil becomes widespread it will sink the sinkings that the Messenger of Allah foretold did take place in the year 208 a h in the Maghrib 13 villages sank into the earth in 346 a h during the time of caliph al Muti great earthquake struck the city of Ray and its surroundings the city of Tarkhan was completely swallowed and only 30 people survived around 150 villages of Rai also sank and the earthquakes reached as far as Hulwan where much of that city also sank in 533 a h the city of Buhaira sank and black waters filled the pit that appeared in 597 a H a town near Basra sank into the earth the increase of food during the expedition of Tabuk the Prophet of mercy said to Bilal bring us some food Bilal replied by Allah who sent you as the true prophet all our bags are empty o Messenger of Allah the Prophet said look at the bottom of the bags o Bilal maybe you will find something so Bilal shook out all the bags some were completely empty but from some one or two dates fell all together seven dates were collected in his hand the Messenger of Allah told him put them in a bowl he then placed his blessed hand over the bowl and said come let us eat three of us began to eat keeping the seeds in our hands after we were full we counted the seeds I had 54 seeds and the others had a similar number yet the seven dates in the bowl were still there unchanged we were amazed at this miracle and our eyes filled with tears the Messenger of Allah then said to Bilal keep these dates o Bilal whoever eats from them will be satisfied the next day he asked Bilal to bring the dates again this time there were 10 of us and we all ate until we were full still the seven dates remained in the bowl then the Messenger of Allah said if I had not felt shy before my Lord I would have fed all of us with these seven dates until we reached Medina he then gave the dates to a child for if the messenger had said they will be enough for tomorrow too then they would surely have been enough for Allah would never allow his messenger to be proven false the creation of Adam Alaihissalam Allah created Adam Alaihissalam directly without any means he commanded the angels to make sujud to him and taught him the names of all things when Adam was created he was given prophethood and was sent as a prophet to the angels Allah taught him many names that the angels did not know Abu Huraira said I asked o Messenger of Allah was Adam a prophet the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam said yes he was both a prophet and a messenger Allah spoke to him directly without any mediator the messenger of the worlds the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam is the prophet of all prophets on the night of Isra Allah raised him to his presence and spoke to him directly Allah says in the Quran Allah and his angels send blessings upon the Prophet o believers send blessings upon him as well about Idris Alaihissalam Allah says we raised him to a high station and about Muhammad Alaihissalam Allah says then he drew near until he was two bow lengths away or even closer similarities with earlier prophets Hood Alaihissalam was given the wind and with it those who opposed him were destroyed the Messenger of Allah was also supported with the wind at the battles of Badr and the trench Ibrahim Alaihi Salam broke the idols of his people out of anger for Allah in the conquest of Mecca the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam broke 360 idols some with his own hands and some by pointing with his finger according to a narration from Abdullah ibn Abbas when Ibrahim Alaihis Salam came out of the fire he left his city until then his language was the same as his people Syriac but after he crossed the Euphrates River Allah gave him a new language because it was given after crossing the Euphrates it was called Hebrew when he left the city Nimrod sent soldiers after him to capture him they caught him on the way but when they spoke to him they found that he no longer spoke Syriac but another language thinking he was not the man they were looking for they released him the Prophet's Envoys and the miracle of languages when the Messenger of the Worlds Muhammad Mustafa Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam sent Arab envoys to kings Allah gave those envoys the knowledge of the languages of the lands they went to they spoke fluently in the languages of the countries they visited Ismail Alaihi Salam was given the Arabic language through inspiration the Messenger of Allah said this Arabic language was inspired to Ismail Alaihis Salam and yet the Prophet himself was the best in speaking it Umar said I asked o Messenger of Allah even though you never left us why is your speech more eloquent than all of us the Messenger of Allah replied the dialect I speak is the dialect of Ismail Alaihis Salam over time it was abandoned and forgotten Jibril Alaihi Salam brought it and taught it to me the miracle of watering the garden Abu Raja said the Messenger of Allah passed by a date Orchard and saw its owner watering it he said if I water your garden what will you give me the man replied watering is not easy even though I'm used to it I get very tired the prophet said if I water it for you will you give me 100 dates the man said yes so the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam took the large bucket from the man's hand and drew water from the well pouring it out again and again after a short while the man said that is enough my garden is flooded with water the prophet left the bucket and the man brought 100 dates the prophet shared them with his companions and everyone ate until they were full afterward the prophet gave the leftover dates back to the its mouth with his blessed hands and said to them do not open this until you reach that place when you arrive Allah will provide you with sustenance then open it we did as the Messenger of Allah said when we arrived at the place and opened the water skin we could not believe our eyes it was full of rich creamy milk from then on throughout our journey we drank from it and were nourished by it water flowing from the Prophet's fingers Jabir said we went on a campaign with the messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam the companions began to suffer from lack of water the Prophet said to me o Jabir bring a small amount of water enough for one wudu I called out to the companions does anyone have a little water for wudu no one answered so I said o Messenger of Allah there is none he told me go to that man from Medina maybe he has a little in his containers I went and found only enough water for one person to drink I brought it back the Prophet then said o Jabir bring the large pot of the army I brought it with the help of others and placed it before him the prophet spread his fingers placed them at the bottom of the pot and told me say Bismillah and pour the water over my fingers as I poured water began to gush out from between his fingers until the large pot was full then he said o Jabir call whoever needs water to come and take so I called and all the companions came with their containers and filled them even after everyone had taken water the pot remained full later someone asked Jabir how many of you were there that day he replied we were 1,500 but even if we had been 100,000 the water would have been enough the spring increasing at Tabuk Urwa said when the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam reached Tabuk it was summer and the spring there had very little water the companions struggled to use it the prophet took a handful of water rinsed it in his mouth and poured it into the dying spring suddenly the water increased and flowed strongly and from stretch out your hand then he touched it gently with his blessed hand and said get up I woke up and found that the swelling on my hand had disappeared the companion whose two arms were healed Sayyid Qasim Ibn Zaid said I fell down and broke both my arms the doctor wrapped them and tied them around my neck I could not move I could not sleep and I was in great pain one night I fell asleep and in my dream I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam crying I said to him o Messenger of Allah you see my condition the Prophet passed his blessed hands over my arms and said to me whenever you have a need make tawasul when I woke up I removed the bandages and saw that both of my broken arms were completely healed the healing of the bedridden girl in Baghdad there was a girl from the family of Ali who had been bedridden for 15 years one morning she stood up and began to walk the people around her were amazed and asked how did this happen the girl said before sleeping I recited a long surah and prayed with tears then I saw the Messenger of Allah Muhammad in my dream he said to me get up and walk I was very afraid and trembling but when morning came I stood up and walked the perfume seller saved from death in Baghdad there was a perfume seller known for honesty and trustworthiness but his business failed and he fell into debt because of this he closed his shop and stayed at home he prayed to Allah and sent Salawat upon the Messenger of Allah on a Friday night after making Dua and Salawat he slept he said in my dream I saw the Messenger of Allah he said to me go to vizier Ibn ISA and tell him I command him to give you 400 dinars in the morning I went to the vizier's palace through al Shafi'i I was brought before him the vizier asked me what is your name I said my name is so and so the perfume seller he asked are you from the people of Kar I said yes the vizier became happy and said by coming here you have made things easier for me if you had not come I would have had to send people to find you last night the Messenger of Allah came to my dream and told me give the perfume seller 400 dinars to take care of his need when I woke up I wondered where to find you I said I am amazed because the Messenger of Allah also came to my dream and commanded me to come to you at this the vizier cried and said since the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam sent you to us Inshallah he is pleased with us then he gave me a purse of 1,000 dinars and said 400 are by the command of the Messenger of Allah the rest are my gift to you but I said I will not take more than what the Messenger of Allah commanded blessing is in the amount he approved the vizier wept again and said this is true loyalty and trust in the Messenger of Allah the young girl whose hand was healed a young girl disobeyed the order of an Emir and for this her hand was cut off and she was thrown out of her house homeless she wandered the streets until an old innkeeper seeking the pleasure of Allah took her in not long after a merchant came to stay at the inn when he saw the girl he admired her and asked her to marry him the girl accepted but he had not noticed her missing hand the girl said I accept but on one condition the man asked what is your condition she replied until we reach your hometown there will be no intimacy do you accept the man agreed and they traveled together on the way the girl asked how much farther to your village the man said not far now hearing this the girl began to cry and she wept until nightfall that night in her sleep she saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said to her where is the hand the girl replied o Messenger of Allah here it is the Prophet took the hand and placed it back onto her arm she woke up trembling with fear and excitement and found that by the miracle of the Prophet her hand was fully restored the Prophet's prophecy of the Caliphs Anas said we were with the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam in a walled date Orchard someone knocked at the door the Prophet said to me o Anas go open the door for him and give him the good news of Paradise and that he will be the caliph after me I opened the door and it was Abu Bakar I gave him the glad tidings and he came in and sat down then someone else knocked the Prophet said o Anas open the door for him and give him the by one the story of Salaba Abu Huraira said Salaba was one of the companions who was very much loved he was a man of taqwa spending most of his time in the mosque worshipping Allah he prayed often fasted much and remembered Allah constantly at night he cried so much that his eyes became swollen in prayer he was always in the first rows and all of us admired him the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam and all the companions loved him dearly one day Salaba came to the Prophet and said o Messenger of Allah pray to Allah to give me much wealth the Prophet replied o Salaba a small amount of wealth that you can thank for is better than a large amount that you cannot thank for but Salaba repeated his request the prophet said o Salaba am I not a good example for you look I am content with little if I wanted Allah could turn these mountains into gold for me Salaba said pray to Allah to give me much wealth I swear that if I have wealth I will give much thanks and pay my zakat the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam said o Salaba do you want your own destruction what is this state Salaba replied o Messenger of Allah why would I be destroyed I will fulfill the rights of wealth then the Prophet prayed for him asking that his wealth be increased and said o Salaba go and take two sheep and look after them sallaba took two sheep and soon they multiplied into a large flock everyone could see the amazing increase but as his wealth grew sallaba began to move back in the prayer rows he who once rushed to the front now prayed further behind his flock became so many that the pastures near Medina were not enough so he moved farther away because of this he attended the mosque and the congregation less often when his wealth grew even more he came only for Friday prayers then after a while he even stopped coming to Friday prayers when Allah revealed the command to collect zakat the Messenger of Allah sent two men to collect zakat from Salaba Salaba asked them how much the zakat was when he Learned the percentage he calculated what he owed from his flocks that filled the valleys it was a large amount and he felt it too much to give he told the men what you are asking under the name of zakat is nothing but a tax go back and I will think about whether I will give it or not when the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam heard what Salaba had done he was deeply saddened many times zakat collectors were sent to him but Salaba scolded them chased them away and even insulted them one day he told them angrily I work hard I struggle I earn with my own effort and then I should give part of my wealth as zakat enough of that the collectors went back and told the Messenger of Allah what had happened the Prophet and his companions were heartbroken remembering how Salaba once never missed the congregation cried all night in worship and never left the mosque the Prophet recalled the day when Salaba had insisted on becoming wealthy and had promised I will fulfill the rights of wealth then he said to his companions Salaba has broken his word after that Salaba's situation worsened day by day his flocks disappeared his health declined and he became miserable then Allah revealed about him the verse among them are those who promised Allah if he gives us from his bounty we will give charity and be among the righteous but when he gave them from his bounty they became stingy turned away and broke their promise so because they broke their word and lied Allah placed hypocrisy in their hearts until the day they will meet him the Prophet foretelling future events the Prophet of Mercy Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said the hour will not come until you fight the people of Hauz and Kerman they are a Persian people with red faces like beaten Shields flat noses and small eyes o people the hour will not come until you fight a people who wear shoes made of hair the Messenger of Allah also said that the Muslims would fight the people of India and be victorious he foretold that the Muslims would make a secure peace treaty with the Romans he also said you will form three armies one in Sham one in Iraq and one in Yemen the world will be open to you and through these conquests you will enjoy abundance and prosperity but then your children will decorate their houses with coverings and ornaments as if they were the karbar yet I tell you today is better than that day will be his blessed face Aisha Radiallahu Anha said I was sewing at home when the needle fell from my hand because it was half dark I could not see it soon the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam came inside with the light shining from his face which glowed like fire the needle became visible I picked it up and told him what had happened the Messenger of Allah said o Aisha the light on my face is the light of prophethood whoever sees it and still does not believe in me will be under the punishment of Allah his blessed voice Aisha radiallahu anha said one Friday the messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam went up to the minbar to give the khutba the companions stood up but the prophet said sit down his voice was so strong that Abdullah ibn Rawaaha who was in the neighborhood of Banu Ghani heard it and immediately sat down where he was Abdul Rahman ibn Muad al Tami said the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam gave a speech in Mina 120,000 companions heard it from their tents we also heard him clearly in our own tent his blessed sweat Jabir said the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam had qualities that no one else had one of them was that his sweat had a beautiful fragrance and its scent spread around wherever he passed people who later came by that path knew that the Messenger of Allah had been there who wear shoes made of hair before the hour comes you will fight a people with small eyes flat and wide noses red faces like beaten Shields the first to seize the wealth of my ummah will be this people called Banu Kantura Banu Kantura are the Mongols in the year 656 a h they reached Baghdad destroyed the city and killed caliph al Mutasim ending the Abbasid rule the letter sent to Kisra Dihya al Kalbi said the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam sent a letter to Kisra inviting him to Islam Kisra became angry and sent word to his governor in Sana blaming him for not stopping the prophet and said either you deal with this man or I will punish you the governor sent soldiers to bring the Messenger of Allah when they came the Prophet delayed them for 15 days then told them go to your governor and tell him my Lord has killed his Lord they returned with the message and soon after news came from Persia Kisra had died just as the Prophet had said the letter sent to the ruler of Ghasan Shuja ibn Wahb al Asadi said the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam wrote a letter and sent me with it to the ruler of Ghasan when the man read the letter he threw it to the ground I was saddened by this and returned to the Prophet to tell him the Prophet said the destruction of this ruler is near three years later news spread everywhere that the ruler had died a bitter death the Prophet knowing people's inner reality said in a battle against the disbelievers there was a man among the companions who kept charging into the enemy with great courage seeing this the companion said o Messenger of Allah none of us has been as useful today as this man the prophet replied that man will die and go to hellfire the companions were shocked and said among themselves if this man goes to hell then none of us can hope for paradise but one companion knowing the prophet never spoke without truth said I will follow this man until the end and see what happens he followed him closely the man fought fiercely but then suffered a deep wound and fell to the ground instead of waiting for help he killed himself with his own sword the companion ran back to the prophet and said I bear witness that you have spoken the truth the others asked what happened he replied the man killed himself the increase of wealth the messenger of the world Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said before the hour comes your wealth will increase so much that people will struggle to find anyone in need to accept charity a man will offer Sadaka but the one he offers it to will say I do not need it this came true in the time of Uthman and later in the time of Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz in Usman's time conquests expanded and the spoils taken from North Africa and the Romans enriched the Muslims in the time of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz a just and pious caliph the treasures gathered by previous rulers were distributed among the people removing poverty and need the increase of wealth will also happen again in the end of times during the return of ISA Alaihi Salam knowing the hypocrites Urwah said when the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was returning from the expedition of Tabuk a group of hypocrites secretly plotted when Muhammad passes by the narrow road on the side of the mountain we will attack him and push him down making it look like an accident they covered their faces so they would not be recognized as they neared the mountain the prophet called hudhaifa and said to him go back and keep away the men coming behind us with covered faces hoodhifa went back saw the hypocrites and struck the faces of their camels to stop them realizing that the prophet knew their secret they turned back in fear and melted into the crowd of the army when Hudhifa returned the Prophet asked him did you recognize them Hudhifa said no I could not recognize them the Prophet said Allah informed me of them o Hudhifa they were 12 men and their names are on another day while speaking from the minbar the Prophet said o people among you are hypocrites when I say a name that person should stand up he named 36 men and each one stood the companions were shocked but after watching their behavior it became clear that they were truly hypocrites answering questions about the unseen a group from the people of the book came carrying their scriptures under their arms and asked permission to see the Prophet when the Messenger of Allah was told about them he said they have come to ask me about matters of the unseen but I am only a servant of Allah and I know only what Allah tells me then his face brightened and he said bring them in the men came and sat before him the prophet said do you want me to tell you what you came to ask before you even say it they said yes tell us the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said you came to ask me about Dhul Qarnain he was a young man from the Romans Allah gave him kingship first he went to Egypt and built the city of Alexandria then he set out to conquer the world and built a great barrier between two mountains the men said what you told us is exactly what is written in our books then they testified there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his servant and messenger
