hi everybody my name is Eric and I'm the founder of support adventure and I just wanted to tell you about what most of the jobs entail with support aventure working as an IT technician so basically our niche in the IT industry is working for companies called msps which that sense for managed service providers and basically what we do is we contract technicians to work on their help desk so that means that you would be the first point of contact normally for businesses who need IT support so these companies that we contract technicians to are called msps and they will go to other companies and say Sasa insurance company to pick a boring example they would go to an insurance company and save rather than having an internal IT person why don't you hire us and call our help desk have your users call our help desk every time you need to help with with IT support and so then we so then the MSP will install an agent on all of the servers and workstations so that the machines can be monitored and controlled remotely including screen sharing with things like TeamViewer and then when the users need help they would send an email or call into the help desk and create what's called a service ticket now a lot of you probably have worked on ticketing systems before hopefully if not no big deal we can teach you how to do that but mostly what it is is Windows computers and office 365 for the communications like email and file sharing like on platforms like SharePoint so Windows 10 is the main operating system Windows servers of all different varieties and office 365 for email that's the main sort of stuff and mostly the technical on the technician toolset we have auto task or connect wise as the ticketing server ticketing service so it's a cloud thing that you would log into and both of those have their own remote rmm systems for remote controlling the computer so automate connect ways automate made or dado rmm are the ones for connect wise in auto task respectively and all of the documentation is in I Tegeler so what does this look like someone someone would send it in the email and it would come in the ticketing system it would be assigned to you and say hey I need to create a new mailbox for Jimmy who's starting on Monday and then you would go in top IT clue and you would find the panel for office 365 and you'll log into the office 365 pen on create that mailbox for Jimmy and then you would ask hey well what machine would Jimmy be using they tell you that Jimmy will be using machine number 37 so then you would go in the rmm and find machine number 37 and log into it remotely and set up Microsoft Outlook and all of the apps for Jimmy and the printers Jimmy's gonna be using you would log into the server create a domain account or an active directory for Jimmy's login to the network and then basically what are the other whatever other steps would be included maybe Jimmy needs to use QuickBooks or some accounting software like that and anything like that that needs to be set up you would probably have a list of how to do it and then you would just set that up through the rmm connecting remotely and yeah then you can do a call on Monday with Jimmy and say hey welcome to the company this is how the tech works this is how you set up your email and your phone etc etc or then it could be a problem with the printer someone calls you with and you'd have to troubleshoot that remotely some and sometimes you'd have to ask late on-site sometimes you'd have to leave a user to unclog a paper of remotely from the printer a piece of paper or yeah you could have to do some unblock report and networking really spam emails you could have to troubleshoot a slow machine so anything any computer problem that someone in an office could have or someone who's working remotely from home like connecting to the company VPN you'd have to sort of help them troubleshoot it and a lot of the time we get a lot of the answers on how to do the job by googling it and that's perfectly allowed and learning on the job in the front entry level position it's expected that you will learn a lot on the job once you've become a level 2 or level 3 tech tech you are expected to have a certain amount of prior knowledge on how to solve the issues so I hope that helps you understand what the job is at supply venture for the MSP companies that were hiring and training people for and we provide in-person and remote training so either way and yeah basically when you apply you'll be asked to sort of fill out a form that tells us about your experience and then you'd be invited for an interview that would sort of judge whether you could fit for a supported venture based on your past experience your personality characteristics and your technical knowledge so thanks a lot I look forward to receiving those applications me and my team will go through it and you can always email two jobs at support of Entercom for more info thanks a lot catch you later good luck on your application bye now
